Haters will hate, trolls will troll, Cannon people will fire off. Fact is to please most people you have to make entirely new game overhauls, make girls naked and have bouncy boobies, or add new fully voiced and quested companions and/or gaming world cells, (playable new weapons that are vanilla friendly help too, especially remeshed)or people will rip you apart. I for one am glad you refrained from merely taking a weapon, giving it a new ammo or attack type and a random damage number added. I am glad you even stuck to a theme closer to actual Fallout, but best of all, you adhered to the one and only truly mystical reference in all of Fallout, the Chosen One of Arroyo. The Chosen was in spiritual contact with the village elder, and it is alluded to in the storyline that the spirits of the fallen watched over, and strengthened the Chosen to fulfill destiny after their deaths. It is within the realm of reason some of that mystical energy went into the crafting, or effects, of the Chosen's gear and weaponry. This isn't exactly Cannon, but it certainly is within the realm of possibility. You get endorsements from me.
In my opinion, the only way to make this better is to tack on audio from Fallout 2, Arroyo village music, which I find here, in my computer, C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout New Vegas\Data\Music\Fallout1and2\Fallout2 but you can find as long as you know where to go FNV , and see ...\Fallout New Vegas\Data\Music\Fallout1and2\Fallout2 at the end. Just script it so it plays different parts of the song on equip. There are three distinct vocal parts throughout the song. Pick a different vocal part for each weapon equip to emphasize the protection from the Chosen's ancestors. And perhaps find a way to make the song play instead of the base music once through when they equip the armor.
thank you, i will take your idea of adding arroyo music to the weapon into account if i decide to create another update, for the time being i will not change the weapon to an AK as i cannot find any unused entites of any assault rifles from FO3 in the geck, might build one from scratch with exsisting models, but that'll be awhile. i really tried to take fallout 2 into account best i could, with the note left by the choosen one i tried leave his/her gender a mystery, like obsidian did, i plan on creating a mod related to this one in the future, one that has the courier traveling to new arroyo, and/or wherever the choosen one is and teaming up with them, though that might take a long time. if you liked this mod for its fallout 2 referances then you might like a mod i'm currently in late devolpment for, which will add a new companion to the game, with a personality akin to myron, though its almost done i'm still working out problems with the dialouge.
The assault rifle you get in Modoc is an AK, if you want to go symbolic, the caps you get in Arroyo is 152, and O.o at the amount of spears. I don't think I've seen that many in a full playthrough.
ah thank you, didn't know you even got a assault rifle in modoc, but will change the gun to a AK thank you, i added 13 spears to fit with the theme of this mod, and thank you for refreshing my memory on part of the caps, i was close though. will update the mod tommorow.
