Gosh I hate this whole "the courier has memory loss" misconception. THE COURIER DIDN'T LOSE HIS MEMORY! THE COURIER DOES REMEMBER HIS NAME HE TELLS DOC MICHELE AT THE BEGINNING. THE COURIER ALSO SAW BRUCE ISAAC IN NEW RENO. HE REMEMBERS WHAT HE WAS CARRYING IN THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME. HE REMEMBERS WHAT THE PEOPLE WHO ATTACKED HIM LOOKS LIKE. THE.COURIER.NEVER.HAD.MEMORY.LOSS. There. Just had to get that off my chest. Nothing against you by the way, just angry that people accept this common misconception as fact. Its like the misconception that the Courier was from vault 21. Except with this one its actually possible as the Courier could of come from vault 21. Its just unlikely. Remember that it was Doc Michael who gave you the vault 21 jumpsuit. It wasn't one of the things that you had on you when the Doc got you.

I believe this idea comes from the Lonesome Road DLC, where it seems that (dispite the fact the courier blew it up) he has no recollection of the place. It also may come from the fact that when you discuss with Veronica the first time, you can state you 'don't know' where you came from. As for what your character says... 1. He remembered his name.Its not uncommon for people who lose their memory to at least remember a few things. For all we know, whatever name your character gives isn't their REAL name, just a name they remember. 2.Again, remembering a few things. Remembering one person he met from the past (who he only thinks he remembers him. Doesn't actually say for certain).
He does not, by the way, remember what he had with him at the beginning. There is no sign of this anywhere. Doc Mitchell gives you your stuff, saying you had it on you. Your character doesn't ask for it.
Firstly, it's an RPG, you can choose to have your character know who Bruce Issac is, you can CHOOSE to have your character have memory loss, you can CHOOSE whether or not he is from vault 13.
Stop trying to pinpoint an origin for a character that wasn't designed to have one.
Wearing the duster made me ncr faction which ruined some quests. So sold it and the hat as well and bought ammo instead. The weapons overpowered yes but helps a new character.
both versions end up with my hat on/in my shoulder. v 1.0 armor has DT 5000, hat DT 500. v 1.1 armor has DT 500, hat DT 100. The armor is a reuse of NCR ranger armor, complete with faction dress-up.
I haven't messed with the weapons, but if they're like the armor, I'll have to set them aside for being over powered for my current play through.

Umm, overpowered for beginning players to say the least. Equipment like this should be in the Cheats section. But it is nice to have good cowboy equipment, thanks.
