The newest version of Clean-Deluxe is officially released. This latest version changes quite a bit. More unnecessary FX are nullified, compatibility with other mods is (hopefully) increased, some problem areas have been combed over with a fine toothed comb, and the problem with multiple files causing installation confusion has been eliminated.

The Meshes add on has been moved to the Optional bin, and is joined by a DXT1 grass add on. Neither of these are required for Clean Deluxe to work properly, and only add a little in the way of performance or cleanliness, so take them or leave them as you choose.

The downside is that people without the full compliment of DLCs no longer have separate files for them to install, but by 2019 I doubt anyone is still playing version 1.0 of New Vegas and trying to save up $15 for the upgrade to the full experience.

If there is enough interest, I may be making some extension patches (I hesitate to call them compatibility patches) for some particularly jarring cluttered mods, such as NVInteriors, but for the most part there shouldn't be any problems with compatibility, so this version should be semi-final.

Glad you updated it, works with TTW?
This kinda mod might break it.

I haven't tested it yet, but I forsee zero problems. No story content, nav meshes, quests, scripts, map markers, or anything of outside visual elements was touched by this mod, so your transition to the world of New Vegas should go off without incident.

There is also a Fallout 3 version of the mod, and the two of them together should cover the entire TTW world.

I might make a TTW version at some point, however, just to shave off another precious slot in users' load order.

Edit: I did end up testing this with TTW. It does work without any major show stopping issues noted.

It's mutually unnecessary with POTG. You could run both as I think there's some pieces one or the other doesn't touch, but ultimately they're very similar in function, if not specifically intent.

I've been a big fan of this mod since forever, but I've always had the flea behind my ear, will it break my game if I have too many mods installed? or remove something important sla...

I found out this mod seems to actually add Barrel Cactus Fruit everywhere and disables useful clutter items from the game which isn't really useful since most of the clutter items aren't havok enabled to begin with? Not sure why you removed the cigarettes and such from GS since it's useful. I love that it cleans things up like debris and disables the devil dust and such without outright deleting the records but those additions/removals are a large detractor from the mod

The mod removes a lot of world object clutter. These objects aren't removed from the game, however, and can still be found in inventories and other areas. The name of the game is performance enhancement and cleaning.

I asked Qolore on Discord about this mod and his response was that the mod wasn't useful as it didn't increase FPS and it disabled random useful items like all the cigarettes in GS and added a bunch of cactus barrel fruit everywhere, I'm not sure what the mod actually does since it's not listed anywhere so I don't know what is affected, what does he mean by barrel fruit? Does it just add it to level lists or is there extra barrel cactus? And does that mean everything that was clutter was placed in a container/inventory nearby?

Edit: I just cracked open the whole dang mod with xEdit with c6 checking too and I couldn't find a single reference to cactus in it, Qolore used an older version so he thought it still had that issue, I'm still confused on where the clutter is getting placed if as you say it's put in another container nearby

In an older version there was some code cleanup for the cactus that was in prior versions, which has hence been removed. It led to every "dead" cactus bearing fruit. It got in the way of survival mods, and has more recently been removed. It seems Qolore is going on some old information as if it were still relevant for the latest version.

On the topic of speed up, when you're using a much slower system, and your bottleneck is a CPU, there will be a huge improvement. More modern systems don't really benefit as much, except possibly in 1% lows. At any rate you wouldn't be noticing much of an improvement in average FPS but rather an increase in worst-case frame rate. If you're running at least an Intel 9xxx or AMD R5+ 2xxx, you might not actually notice any improvement, at all (it would be measurable, but not noticeable).

As far as the random clutter, for the most part in an older version anything which could have been moved through physics was removed from the world. I re-added most of it (or un-removed it, to be more accurate) in more recent versions. At any rate, It would have only been the objects being removed from the level design, not from the game itself, and anything which didn't have a physical presence in the world was untouched. People have complained about this, but honestly 90% of the stuff removed was due to the fact that it either would have disintegrated in the hundreds of years since the war, or otherwise been scavenged long ago. I played the game through multiple times with this mod installed and never found myself wanting for scrap, and I played a rather restrictive hardcore survival setup.

yeah this mod work wonder on this poor peasant potato PC. It does increase FPS a bit on my experience (since i always use lower graphic setting, this mod make it improve 10-15fps). For us poor folks, FPS is everything for smoother gameplay in exchange of quality.

Maybe it doesn't do much to your rich people with NASA computer in terms of performance. Maybe for you folks, graphics is everthing.

Just to note: I currently do have a really beastly computer, as far as this game is concerned. And whenever I play I still run this mod... alongside an ENB cranked to the absolute max. In that situation every frame does count, and removing random clutter does wonders for enbseries' SSAO and shadows.

Yes and no. It does much of the same thing, this is just less invasive and with more of a fine toothed comb ran over some places, with an eye for cleaning things up.

The Camp McCarran concourse has a very weird bug where the rubble that's normally blocking doors was moved to infront of the main entrance way, a vending machine is stuck in the ground next to it, and a bunch of spoons and bottle caps are cluttered together. I have to assume it had something to do with me having clean deluxe installed when I ran New Vegas on a laptop, then removing it once I got a better PC. Any fix?

I just want to say that i started to have fps problems in londsome road after exploding things with the laser gun and it was unplayable. Itried geting inside a house, geting rid of all of my items (maybe one of the was causing a bug, casue i have 3 mods i think), getting everything in low, errasing valorant/vanguard, errasing other heavy games from my pc, changing alot the .INI files and prefs.INI and nothing helped me.
THEN i installed this mod and i can finally play. gg love u
