All right, so I've clumsily attempted the edit in true noobtastic fashion and, well surprise surprise, nothing has changed. Kurt's Shotgun hardly even blows back the air in front of it, and The Equalizer has vanished from my inventory. (The bouncer at Gommorah must have kept it for himself.)
Here's what I did or didn't do: (Try not to roll your eyes in disdain too much) 1) Loaded up FalloutNV.esm, DeadMoney.esm, and NewVegasBounties.esp as a checked and active file. 2) Went into Miscellaneous - FormList and created a new entry called "PerkAndStayBackWeapons" 3) Opened that new list, went over to the Weapons category, dragged "aaCoyoteShotgun" and "aaKurtShotgun" and dropped them into the new list window. Saved changes. 4) Fired up the game, equipped Kurt's Shotgun and emptied it into Cass's newly modded, ample chest. 5) Felt the needle of disappointment sliding into my skull and moving downwards.
Don't really know why I bother sometimes, they only do slightly more dmg than the regular lever-action boomsticks, and moreover, there's a shiny Mossberg 590 sitting in my locker, with all relevant perks activated. Guess it's just a matter of due diligence, ya know?
Basically you add the formID of the items you want on that perk, to the FormList responsible for that perk. I usually recommend doing via script rather than direct copy. It makes for a mod that is compatible with everything else. But if it is for your own personal use you can just drag and drop into the form list
Okay so, Mr Modding 101, how do I go about setting the shotguns to use the Shotgun Surgeon & And Stay Back perks? I've gone into the geck and loaded up the mod plugin, but can't see where the checkboxes are. So what say you, class in session? Impart some wisdom? Pretty please with pies and peas?
Hello, been playing New Vegas since the day it came out and JUST got turned on to your vids and mods through the Modding New Vegas Ultimate Edition videos since they've been posted to the news section. I've become quite a fan - Thank you for the time and effort that's gone into your videos and your mods!
Down to business, the description doesn't state anywhere if this mod adds the weapons to the form list programatically or if it's a hard edit to the cowboy list. I'll download it and find out, of course, but it might be good info for other users to know if they can use it worry-free or if they're better off just making a hard edit to their last esp (I call mine Final Word)
The reason this makes a big difference to me, and likely not to others is that for my game I restructure most projectile weapons to deal damage according to caliber - If this mod adds via script I'll move my weapon edits to the same mod and eliminate them from Final Word. That way, if I ever need to cut out NVB I can just take this mod along with it instead of needing to take them out of Final Word further down the road and playing with masters when I might not be in the mood to deal with it.
Again, thank you for your mods and videos, I've learned from them!
Hey, Hi there Gopher.Good to see u with the living again. Actually your Mod Clinic inspired me to play a Female Gunslinger and Bounty Hunter....so this is a must for me. Will endorse as soon as I can.
Good point although I assumed that much was obvious as the game with crash if you have it above What I meant was that it is not one of those mods that has to be loaded last or its changes will be removed (nskies etc). I will change the description.
