for all having trouble installing mod, you have to manually create the directory go to Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\textures\nvdlc02 and create a folder called armor, then inside that create a folder called desertrangerarmor and put the dds file in there after that, it should work
Well, to each their own. I've tried to stay away from those kinds of armor mods thus far. I don't know, just doesn't seem to fit unless you rework every armor in the game, and for me that's a little much. So, I wander the Mojave in my rather decidedly unadorned Desert Ranger Armor.
No reason you couldn't use this texture for that, you know. should just be a simple matter of finding the path to the NCR Armor and dropping this into a texture path to overwrite.
Aye you are right i could. lol but no need to install it. well the texturing you did is pretty good so good job on your work regardless of my opinion If this was a retex of the ncr ranger combat i would love it but hey to each their own. Still good work with the texturing
To be truthful, You are all right. The desert camouflage patter was what made the armor unique. I still think it looks unique, granted in a more subtle way. To me, it looks better. I'm sorry that you think it looks plain, but again, this was a personal piece of work that I decided to put up for the community.
It is also my first foray into any personal modding.
IronicEcho, I know that I could use the Free Camera to take pictures, and I may yet. Not sure.
Valanndill, The reason I removed the camo was that I never quite liked it. It was a personal choice. Sorry that you don't agree. Fixing it to your own preference should be just as easy as installing the texture. Simply delete it and that should be that.
ech0six, RampageHunt, I like things without a lot of flair. I normally run the Mojave Marathon in a Bounty Hunter Duster, and this was - to me - the next level of that look, without the NCR or LAPD markings. "Some people aren't looking for flash," to quote a fictional low-profile type.
