Maybe I'm being daft, but is Directors Chair incompatible with Dynavision 3? Is there a fix I'm missing? *EDIT* Nevermind I am being daft, should have read the description of Dynavision 3.
Soon is not enough. I'm not the biggest fan of updating major mods such as DC during a playthrough, as that has caused me problems numerous times before, so I guess I'll wait before starting a new game.
Just bought FONV: UE at steam summer sale, and unlike Skyrim, i immediately started modding with Gopher's guides before even starting the game once. Now after over 600 hours of Skyrim, i thought that ENBs were the only way to go. But with the amount of issues in the Fallout engine (transparent ironsights, nightvision incompatibility, lack of support for ATI cards etc), i gave this mod series a try.
Now i was already using Dynavision for Skyrim ENBs just for the dynamic DoF, but the various lighting settings, soft focus and DoF presets like Horizonclear from this one is a really awesome package. Combined with Nevada Skies, Interior Lighting Overhaul and a few gigabytes of texture/model packs, the only thing missing from ENBs are the shadow rendering methods like SSAO, detailed shadows and indirect lighting. Maybe there actually is some sort of ENB setting, that only adds those shadow options? The "enhanced shaders lite" from the latest modding guide is a really old ENB, it even displays "ENB for burnout paradise" on startup and isn't much of an improvement.
So Gopher, keep up the good work I'm a bit confused why your mods have so relatively low amount of endorsements, since your modding guides on YT are pretty much a must for everyone. Generally i also think that FONV is the much better game than Skyrim in pretty much every aspect, so it's a bit sad to see that most modders have already deserted this game in favor of Skyrim. We can just hope that more people get back to it, at least there should be no danger that Bugthesda gets back and releases another "patch" that just breaks 99% of all mods while fixing less than 1% of the bugs like they did in Skyrim.
The Dynavision mod is going to be completely redone soon. Basically the Fallout 3 version is about 10 times smoother and 10 times less performance heavy.
Hey Gopher or anyone else that may be able to help. I've been using these visual mods for a long time but I just recently realized when I use the DC hotkey there is no option to remove Depth of Field. In FO3 the farthest left setting under Depth of Field was set to off, in NV there is no off option. I tried to disable it via pipboy items for Dynavision and Imaginator but if I turn one off the other automatically turns itself on. Certain mods like Project Reality have their own DOF weather settings that I would rather use over dyna/horizonclean. Anyone know how to turn off Dynavision from directors chair like in FO3? I don't want to uninstall Dyna because I love it for screenshots and I would lose directors chair too.
Edit: Duh, I didn't dig deep enough in the mcm menu entry. I guess I'm too used to the FO3 version. I now see the Director's Chair mcm menu with the option to (un)check when it's active. Sorry about that. Still not sure why when I use the old <inventory> menus it automatically sets one or the other to on but I guess it truly doesn't matter.
Is anyone else having an issue installing this mod? Everytime I try I get the "An exception has occured in the script" error. Below is the order in which I install but no matter how many times I try I still get the afforemented error. No other mods have been installed yet, though I have tried installing other hud mods before this (DUINV 1.4) to see if that would help but it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated.
This is the order in which I install:
The Mod Configuration Menu DYNAVISION 2 - Dynamic Lens Effect The IMAGINATOR - Visual Control Device CINEMATECH - Film Grains and Styles *v1.6 or later required Directors Chair - Total Visual Control Device Ohud Uhud
If you're using Nexus Mod Manager, then that's the reason. 90% of mods that modify menu.xml file (HUD mods and such) gave me that error while using NMM. I suggest you use Fallout Mod Manager, it will probably work correct. Good luck!
Thanks to this mod and the real time tweaking rather than the old clunky menu I was able to ditch any traces of ENB/SweetFX. In fact, I think it looks better than most of the ENB configs. I uploaded a few pics I thought really demonstrated the power of this mod working together with all those visual mods. My framerate is very happy to have a mod like this.
I've gone through the readme and put everything in order but my game refuses to restart with Directors Chair installed. It just immediately crashes. Then when I uninstall, it works without a problem. I have everything that is required installed, any idea what could be causing this?
Edit: Scratch that, I just downloaded wrong version. ">

Thanks for the quick reply.
