THE BASICS

New Vegas Configator is designed to make it quicker and easier to tweak the game's settings
and variables. It allows customizing many aspects that the game launcher doesn't support
and without the need to manually edit the configuration files.

There are nearly 80 variables available for tweaking divided into three categories. As you
click any of them a description and controls to tweak it are displayed on the right. If the
variable has an image you can click it to see "before and after".

After you're done click "Apply" and the changes are instantly saved to your game.
The "Play" button in the top-right corner can be configured to
automatically apply yourchanges and start the game.


PRESETS

It's always good to have a backup in place. You can save your New Vegas settings (with all
the tweaks you've made) into a preset for later use. For example, if you make a critical
change and the game won't run anymore you can revert back to your earlier settings. To make
a preset, simply open the "Presets" view and click "Create preset". Later you can choose
any of your saved presets to load and apply it to the game. A preset titled
"First-time backup" is created automatically the first time you run New Vegas Configator.

Presets are stored in the "Presets" subfolder, each one consisting of two or three
numbered files, like "Preset.P1" and "Preset.P2". You can easily transfer presets from one
computer to another by copying the folder.


VERSION HISTORY

Version 1.5

- REWRITE! The entire program has been built again from scratch. Benefits:
- A proper UI with actual sliders for easy tweaking. Window fully resizeable.
- Greatly increased speed and stability. Works for virtually everyone.
- Now edits all three files: Fallout.ini, FalloutPrefs.ini and Fallout_default.ini
- More useful and informative descriptions.
- Note: you can install over the previous version to keep your presets.

Version 1.36

- Added a fix for mouse acceleration and an option to disable grass swaying.
- The UI now properly skips frames to be more responsive on slower machines.
- The "Audio" and "General" tabs have been merged together.

Version 1.35

- New example images and better descriptions.
- Improved speed when applying settings: instantaneous!
- Added new variables requested by users.
- The program now gives instructions about DEP in case it crashes.
- The program window can be enlarged so all variables fit on the screen.
