"New Vegas Configator: Outdated and possibly dangerous" The guy seems to have internet beef with the creator behind the config tool from what i have seen online
Thanks for the information. Makes sense: New Vegas's last update was July 7, 2011. This mod was updated 11 days after that... How can something that edits the INI be "Outdated", when the INI is the same since 2011 lol.
it wasn't exactly clear what each ini variable did at the time (no documentation) and so a lot of the settings in the configurator might say they alter one feature but also cause an unintended effect that the author didn't know about at the time. Gridstoload is an example, it doesnt just increase LoD distance, it can cause permament damage to a save file and instability as well by altering the distance that cells are loaded and deloaded
It's not an outdated tool per se, it's outdated information. Nowadays all you truly need is to use the launcher to set the ultra preset and then change resolution to your monitor. Any edits you make outside of that will introduce errors, performance hits, etc due to how FNV was coded. Nothing can fix this.
nah it doesn't, use virustotal to check this stuff. also, trojan don't stay long on nexus, especially mods/app of this scope. there is false positive from antivirus, I would advice using the default windows anti virus(windows defender), its the best out there, and is free when buying a windows genuine version.
if you have a genuine version of windows there is no reason whatsoever that you use another antivirus, and it would prevent yourself a lot of false positive.
Been modding NV for over a year now, only today did I discover this. It's great, works awesomely with DXVK for buttery smoothness. I honestly didn't think NV could get this smooth.
Wow, it actually works great! After a tiny bit of tweaking, my usual frame drops are gone! I'd grown to accept that no matter what graphic settings I had I'd always see frame drops in specific places (i.e. 10 or so frames when in New Vegas, or 20 frames when in Vault 22). Those frame drops are now gone. For the first time I can maintain 60fps no matter where I am. That's more I like it!

I know I'm late but does anyone know which setting might affect dll files? Some feller mentioned this tool could alter which dll file would be loaded by MO2 and I'm trying to find out if he was valid.

Essential mod, works with TTW, 100% vanilla, heavily modded setups, it works in any situation, with no bugs whatsoever! But I don't understand why it has to come through an installer, it would be much more convenient if it came in a .zip or .rar file. I see no reason for it.
good idea, but this is deleting any changes you made to settings that are not on the list... i had my gamma adjusted by mods and it went back to 1.0 even thought there is no gamma settings in this editor... it sets everything to default, rather than not touching it. sad that something so simple can be done incorrectly
