Attention MO2 2.1 Users!! Something has changed in the way MO2 handles FOMOD installers. This is affecting the install for Project Nevada. You can follow the manual installation instructions for MO mods, and bring this to the attention of the MO2 devs. It is not a problem with PN, and PN will not be updated to fix this issue
Before you post a comment, check the FAQ or have a look at the SEARCHABLE forum thread to see if your question has been answered already.
If you're looking for item codes or don't know where something is, we have a wonderful Data Sheet with all of that info on it.
If you have questions about custom patches, take a look at our mostly comprehensive Modder's Guide.
Don't forget to check out the Project Nevada - Extra Options page for all new updates and patches. Bug fixes, new content, and more control over your game included.
If you have a feature request, take it to the Mod Requests thread. Project Nevada is not in active development, and feature requests will be ignored. You are much more likely to find someone to make it on the Mod Requests thread.

For people with the no-menu error for Rebalance, get this fix.
I been using PN since 2016. It's fine. It's only rated bad by people who can't read the installation instructions.
Genuinely, if you are a sensible, reasonably intelligent person (which excludes 90% of Nexus users) and can follow simple, well written instructions, you too can enjoy this mod the way it was intended.
Did you read the part where it says you can't use it anymore because mod manager mod causes it not to work. When you need the mod manager to use this mod. In other words, the mod is broken.
It's not that it doesn't work or is broken in my usage. While I haven't used it since 2019, I don't see why it would break now. However it is very inefficient compared to mods made today that replace it.
When PN was being made, NVSE didn't support event handling, so scripts would run continuously. This ofc causes a build up over time, with inventory items that use scripts piling onto that. So frames drop as you play. This may not be as noticable if you're on a super PC or don't have many mods, or play for shorter times.
I love PN and it feels like heresy not to use it, it's fantastic, but it was written adhering to an older toolset. That's nothing against PN, it couldn't be made for something that didn't exist then. But why use it now when you can use many other mods that are written with modern scripting tools that will run more stable and efficiently?
This list contains modern mods that can replace PN without its inefficiencies. https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/avoid-mods.html#replacingPn
"THIS MOD IS OUTDATED AND BROKEN. IT WAS LAST UPDATED IN 2014 AND IS IRRELEVANT IN 2024. Outdated, inefficient, bloated and broken. Most features have modern alternatives (listed below). Causes save bloat due to continuous quest stages being triggered, and some features either don't work or break the game (chargeable weapons, lethal headshots and the stealth/AI changes).
"Although it may seem counterproductive to install a bunch of small mods to replace one big mod, these alternatives are all more efficient and performance friendly. They are 100% safe to use and actually work, unlike Project Nevada"
So they are saying the alternative to installing a neat package like PN in about 5 minutes is installing 12 standalone mods each having around 5 required mods themselves? Yeah I'm not gonna spend 30 hours modding this game to get it to work sorry, I don't have that kind of time anymore. PN will do just fine... Even with all its flaws!
Crashes the game constantly every 10-15 minutes, fresh fallout install and the only mod is PN, Kindly need advice how to get it to working as it seems like a nice mod.

I also have the stutter remover and NVSE installed those dont show here. I also did the required ini changes to stutter remover in the pinned comment.
Project Nevada and Stutter Remover are both very outdated and broken, both last updated in 2014. That's 10 years ago! There are many better alternatives to PN, check out JAM for the crosshair and bullet time, NVTF as an alt to nvsr. I recommend you check out Viva New Vegas. its a guide to new vegas modding, its goal is to be "vanilla plus" and its being constantly updated and maintained by a bunch of people. It even has a guide on replacing project nevada completely, with newer, better mods.
Honestly the mod is great for its time but it's kinda bloated and out dated, while it is a nice AIO for stuff if you are just gonna use really old mods if you are using something like a modern install of TTW or whatnot you are probably better off using more modern replacements like JAM and whatnot.
Even then I still have fond memories from my days using this mod and it will always have a special place in my heart, I do kinda hope one day we see a true resurrection of it or at least its features that still don't have alternatives like JAM or Cyberwear such as its weapons.
So ive been really trying to find a solution to this and the literal only post that is actually what im searching for the only person who replies doesnt address the question, so my problem is headshots, if i catch a stray bullet in the head i die instantly, enemies doing more damage and being smarter is really cool but dying instantly from a headshot is not, i cannot for the life of me find a way to disable this from happening save removing the mod entirely which i do not want to do. only other major mod i have is stewiesaitweaks but i could not find anywhere that that would change how headshots work. I also want to clarify i die instantly even with helmets on, power armor helmet or literally just my face i get instant killed and its supremely unfun, anyways thanks for any assistance
came here for this and looks like im not alone. enemies are taking 10 rifle bullets to the temple and barely flinch yet I take a single shot to the noggin and it explodes. I can't find anywhere in the documentation that this is the mod responsible for this but I'm starting to think it is, and it's a major load of stinkin bs.
I've finally been able to enjoy the glory of FNV on PC with mods after being stuck on consoles and it is the absolute best! I know this is a long shot, but I have zero experience with this: Is there a way through the GECK or FNVedit to add throwables (grenades) to the PNxCThrowableExplosivesCacheList (or just list)? I have some mods that add new grenades and I'd love to be able to hotkey them. If there's a post already out there I certainly can't find it so any pointers would be amazing as I start this modding journey!

Before I downloaded this masterpiece I was homeless and 100k caps in debt but after installing this mod I became a trillionare with 8 wives
Thank you Project Nevada for changing my life

Mod works fine with a lot of stuff.
The mod isn't broken, people are genuinely just stupid.

Thanks in advance!
the description is to vague
it's really outdated though and there are many mods that can be used to in it's stead
