I can make a ver with him as non-essential or with an option to set him as either (at the players whim). Yeah the fast travel thing is so he doesn't get lost, but it can be changed as well if needed.
the coyote is essential, that sucks a bit, and the wait order doesnt work actually because sometimes youre fast travelling hes following you to your destination but thats nearly cute^^ though thanks! Mike GrauOhr

IllHurtYou; hmmmm. So you looked in the general store and double checked to make sure the mod was checked in your mod manager and he's nowhere to be found. It's possible another mod changed chets, but he should still be around that area.
If you like I can make another vesion that places him in Victors abondoned shack if that's easier for you.
Juissi: How about something like dogmeat where you can ask Totem to grab ammo, food, weapons etc? Otherwise he could bring you back all kinds of crap that you don't need or want (poolstick, raider armor, ect).

Yeah I think that's a different mod. Not only did I not put rufus in there, but I have no idea what rufus is.
