Can confirm the mod does still work. I recommend using NVSE for finding the item code.
For those with a game that has already been started you should save your current game so you don't lose any progress due to loss of the autosave. Quit to main menu and then start a new game. Trudge through the character creation process and then once you walk out the door drop the Weathered 10mm pistol in your inventory. Open up the command console, click the weathered 10mm pistol to select it. You will see some text at the top of your screen denoting it is selected. Then type gbo and hit enter. It should give you the specific item code. Then just load back into your main game save, open the console again, and type player.giveitem (insert your specific code here) 1.
I'm not sure what you mean by cheat. None of the fixes I linked give you anything you don't already have prior to loading the fix, weapon mods included.
The ones I've tried gave you all of the weapons mods even if you hadn't even left Goodsprings. I looked for a fix for this issue before taking it on myself but, I didn't find a suitable one. Maybe I missed something but, most of what I found were Cheats Giving the player everything all at once. (think about all of the Player houses with uber caches of loot and god weapons. (not my cup of tea)
I do know this mod is somewhat redundant, I'm not trying to do anything that is ground breaking! I don't want to get into a fight with you over this. I only uploaded it because I hadn't found a fix that suited my taste and, I know others are on the same page as me.

I just didn't want to see this or other threads turn into I've built a mod that makes the 10mm pistole shoot mini nukes!
