Just so we're clear, you can not under any circumstance use any part of this mod in mods behind a pay wall. This mod and any part of it is intended to be used for free by the community. If you want want to use this for a free mod then drop me a PM and we can talk (I'll most probably say yes in that case but just to be sure).

I take it someone tried to charge for it? Some people, right?

This is an ammo production mod. Also, good god Dead Money is OP if you finish it early. The Holorifle with Max Charge ammo murders deathclaws, just f*#@ing murders them.

Still works in 2023 :). Remember to leave one ammo in the companion with weapon. The Gnome will refill said ammo.

      This basically is one.
      1) Give weapon and one unit of ammo to companion with GARU
      2) reopen companion inventory, take all but one unit of ammo
      3) Repeat 2 until stockpile of ammo satisfactory
      4) Take back weapon

Or just find the base id of the ammo you want and use the console command: player.additem [base id] [number thereof]
For adding some to an npc it's even simpler - just click on them in console and: additem [base id] [number thereof]

eg, to give yourself 500 bullets of regular 5.56mm ammo, in console type: player.additem 00004240 500

Wiki pages give base id codes for most regular game items, but mod ones are hard to find. However, for any item, be it regular or modded, you can also find its base id by just dropping some on the ground and in console click on it and type: gbo
(at least you can in FO3 with FOSE plug-ins, presumably it's the same in NV with NVSE plug-ins).

In FO4 I only used Dogmeat so far so I have no idea if companions use ammo or if there's any magical companion ammo that never depletes.

Either way, I won't be doing anything while the FO4 CK isn't out.

In fallout 4 you can edit the game INIs to allow companions to not use ammo.

    @}{ellKnight

Just wanted to say even after almost 10years, this is stilla goto mod for me, it works perfectly with Ammo Packs that add more ammo to the game, for all my companions vanilla and non vanilla, and never even crashed once with your mod as a culprit, so thank you for this.

I hope you are still modding cause this is a must for any companions out there.

    Again thank you for this.

I was checking the NVSE function page looking for a way to make exactly this, but decided to search the Nexus first. My idea was a clothing item that'd give companion ammo. You just saved me a few hours which I'll spend on actually playing the game instead. Thanks!

The script runs on every frame but ammo only matters during combat. I'd add conditions like IsWeaponOut, IsInCombat.

using this with TTW, is it normal behavior for this to add several hundred rounds? takes up too much weight.. i used it before but i can't remember

Works with TTW. Fawkes is a murder machine now. Not that he wasn't before.
