I could not complete the "Beef" quest because the game froze up whenever I entered the bath house (I am using latest ATI drivers and have a 5870 card). With this mod installed I talked to Chauncey outside the bath house and was able to complete the quest.
@staticnoise I can't say for sure. All I can say is that I was getting freezes in the Bath House 100% of the time when Chauncey was in there, until I made this change. After that, I got no freezes.
Given that some people don't get the problem in the first place, it's hard to know exactly what the cause is. All I can say is that this mod fixed it for me and hopefully will help some others.
I would add that I am only using a couple of self-made mods. If you are using other mods, they could also be having an effect.
was it really related to him? i ask because i was able to get to him...do tha quest and move on...however...i was not able to look to tha left in tha bathhouse when approching him...and after quest...i was ablt to get out as long as i didnt look in tha same area which would be to tha right going tha other way...and any other time before and after his quest...i could run all around anywhere as long as i didnt look in that corner area of tha room with tha pool.....also i saw some one else said it had something ta do with tha water and people swimming
Aha! I was getting this also. If I tried to talk to him before 4 o'clock....freeze. After 4 was fine but I still had to get out very quickly after killing the assassin or it would freeze again in that cell.
I haven't got that far in my latest game, so I'll download and try it. If it works you'll definitely get my endorsement.
I hope this fix works. That bugged conversation took about half an hour of reloading and quicksaving. I want that half an hour back, Obsidian. YOU HEAR ME?!
Thanks, this annoyed me quite a bit. I got around it after like 50 tries by just leaving the steam room before 4, and re-entering after, but this is far more convenient.
