New Vegas Bounties I
Readme/FAQ
This Readme is primarily for FAQ's and workarounds for specific bugs.

Installation:
Extract the files from the Archive into your New Vegas data folder. (Current Version: 1.2); Replace the version 1.2 .esp with the updated .esp. If you're new to using mods and you're uncertain about the installation process, here are some helpful links:

http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/250302-where-to-install-mod-in-fallout-nv/

Starting the Quest:
Just activate the plugin in your mod manager or data files, load your savegame, and a message will appear and initiate the quest. If the message doesn't appear, the mod is not installed or activated.

FAQ's (Quest-related):
Q: I've gotten the first quest, and there's no marker for Quigley, and I can't find him anywhere. What do I do?
A: This is a technical issue; refer to the technical FAQ section below.

Q: I've spoken to Chesty in Boulder City, and he directed me to the ambush site. There's an ash pile, but I can't search it. What do I do?
A: Don't search the ash pile; look for a holotape on the ground, adjacent to the ash pile. Read the holotape, and the quest will update. If it's not there, most likely a companion picked it up or it clipped/fell through the terrain. Load an earlier save game (before talking to Chesty), and attempt it again, without companions. If the issue persists, PM me on the nexus forums.

Q: I'm experiencing a CTD after killing Eileen. What do I do?
A: This is also a technical issue; refer to the technical FAQ below.

Q: I'm stuck in Mago's dungeon, and I don't have the lockpicking skills to escape. How do I get out of here?
A: Just wait (don't hit the "T" key, but actually wait) for about 30-60 seconds while Mago runs his patrol package. After he smokes a cigarette, he'll force greet you and unlock the cell door (and a fight ensues).

Q: I just provoked Jack; why won't he attack me?
A: Sometimes his AI is erratic, but he's also intended to show contempt for the player, and not all speech options will goad him into instigating violence.

Q: I just killed/intimidated Dallas Courtright, and when I return to the shack Randall is gone. What do I do?
A: Randall is supposed to be MIA; look behind his desk and you'll find a note pinned into the painting. Read the note and the quest will update.

Q: I've killed the Judge; is this all?
A: Yes, for now.

Q: Can I find Marko?
A: No, not in this episode.

FAQ's (Technical):
Q: I can't find Quigley (there is no map marker).
A: The quest script isn't firing. This is usually due to FNVEdit's Masterupdate. Uninstall the mod, and then reinstall it without using masterupdate. Restart the quest - if the issue persists, PM me on the nexus.

Q: I'm experiencing a CTD after killing [Insert bounty target]. What do I do?
A: There are multiple possibilities, but several players have found different workarounds (which may or may not work for you):
- 1. Get a clean save (one before you started the mod). Delete all of the other saves (ones tainted by it). I know this seems like a last-ditch solution, but I have tried many other solutions and this seems to be the only one that works consistently.

- 2. Uninstall the mod. Load the clean game, re-save it, exit, and reinstall the mod.

- 3. Download CASM for NV (Cipscis' Automatic Save Manager): http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=36730

- 4. Install CASM. Go into the in-game settings, and disable all the save options (save on travel, wait, etc.)

- 5. Restart the mod!

Note: If I didn't cover something, please message me on the nexus (and let me know if you've already read the readme).

FAQ's (Balance, Gameplay, etc.)
Q: Why aren't there more dialogue choices?
A: Limitations of both time and the modder's talent (at the time of production). This will be improved in the sequel.

Q: This mod gives out too many overpowered weapons. What can I do?
A: If you think a weapon is overpowered, just disable it in the console. I do it all the time.

Q: Why are the bounties so straightforward? Shouldn't there be some more investigation and nuance?
A: Again, this is attributed to issues of time and skill; I will make improvements in the sequel.

Q: Why is this mod so hard?
A: It's best to try it after level 20, and if your character isn't combat-oriented, you should bring a sturdy companion.

Q: Why is this mod so easy?
A: Scaling combat balance can be challenging, but the fights should increase in difficulty, and definitely climax in the confrontation with the Judge. Use the [Taunt] option in the final fight if you're looking for an intense fracas. The sequel will amp up the difficulty, without question.

Q: Is there going to be a sequel? If so, when can I expect it?
A: Yes. The ETA is February, although it's subject to change.

Q: Why don't you update this mod sooner?
A: Most of the major balance issues and bugs have been addressed, so I'm focusing on the sequel or my next project. I will produce another update as soon as possible, with respect to my current project and schedule.

Q: I want to be a voice actor for the sequel or another project. How can I get involved?
A: Just check the "Assistance Thread" that's in the 'mirrors' section. I'll post voice acting roles when they're available.

Q: Can I contribute in meshes, textures, etc.?
A: Hell yes! Check the "Assistance Thread" or just PM me.

Q: Are you going to be making any mods after the "Bounties" series?
A: Definitely. I've got plans for a boxing mod and a war series.
Note: If there is anything I haven't covered, or if you'd like to discuss a particular topic in more depth, just PM me at the Nexus.
