Changed the effects of magazines from seconds to game days. To prevent this from becoming a cheat each magazine now has weight and each magazine has a chance to give you negative effects.

Duke Patrick's Improved Magazines
Rev 1.1 Removed the "cannot sleep becasue you are taking damage" issue. This is not really a bug but not what I intend either.
I did not like how the magazine mechanic worked in Fallout 3 Vegas. You know ....the effects of reading wear off in a few minutes? Wow...that is just ...silly...
I am not really a gamer, rather I am a virtual reality addict. So I am into immersionism with a sweet creamy layer of realism!
I wanted to make the magazine effects permanent not temporary, but this is my first Fallout Vegas mod * and I really only want to play Fallout Vegas not mod it. I could not find a way to make the effects permanent in less than a few hours of installing Geck and hopping thru the game files. I know I could do it with scripts but as I said I want to play this game not mod it so I wanted this mod done NOW!
So I changed the effects of magazines from seconds to game days. To prevent this from becoming a cheat each magazine now has weight and each magazine has a chance to give you negative effects.
For example the magazine for boxing has a chance to physically hurt your arms and agility for an equal amount of time of the positive effects (a few days).
The idea being that many magazines articles are often deadline induced plagiarism that is only semi useful information at best and can be detrimental as much as it might be helpful.
One known issue is that because the negative effects are conditioned with a percentage chance, sometimes the negative effects will show up in the Pip and sometimes they will not. Even if they do not show up in the Pip your will STILL HAVE A CHANCE TO GET THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS because the game recalculates the chance at the time you consume the magazine ignoring what ever the result was shown in your Pip. This means you will never know for sure if you are about to get the negative effects or not no matter what the readings are in the pip before you consume the magazine.
This mod was made primarily for my own personal use.
* I did a little modding for Fallout 3, but only enough to see I did not really like modding Fallout 3. My real love is sword and shield combat. So modding guns and hand grenades was just not my thing.
