Does this replace every Service Rifle in NV's game world, or does it add a new object? I'm looking for a 'modern' service rifle texture to match with the NCR Rearmament mod I have installed, since it looks out of place for high-tech, well-equipped NCR troopers to be using wooden-furniture rifles.
It doesn't really replace the existing SRs, it just takes the existing ones and gives them a new look. Also, you might want to get some full-auto service rifle mod too because high-tech equipped soldiers probably wouldn't be using a semi-automatic rifle.
Better than that ridiculous vanilla NCR service rifle with wood stock.
I own a well worn AR-15 manufactured in 1968. The recievers are made of 6061 aluminum alloy which is a light grey with white alumimum peeking through the worn areas. Not brown haze like this mod -- except for the dust cover perhaps. Corroded recievers are white and a mess. Should be a white haze to be more accurate. Should have a three prong hider instead of the birdcage.
The handguards are quite fragile and break easily in very cold weather. My rifle is on its fifth set after the other 4 sets have broken.
Considering that the petrochemicals to make cheap, high-quality plastic are not available in the Fallout universe, it makes perfect sense to construct an AR-15 out of steel and wood rather than aluminum and plastic.
Thanks for making this mod, man. I usually wear Ranger Veteran armor, and I didn't feel that the original texture for service rifles went well with it.
It looks good but the rusty look is not all that realistic. The ar15/m16 receivers are made out of aluminum which does not form iron oxide when it corrodes.
