Tf is wrong with this? Putting in the correct info whenever it says I have to log in but it just puts up some bullshit error message. Is it me or is this app just broken?
You should do the community a favor and remove this from here or put it hidden, it's obsolete and the new ones always spam because their mods don't work.....
13 years put of date and people will still say it is the goat. Where as NMM got updated a week ago and is still in top shape and people will say it is trash.
Summary: New to PC gaming/modding FOMM NVSE plugin issue realized and worked around I don't use MO2
Full: I've been a console player for a few decades. Anyhow decided I try running some games on my laptop and to my surprise, fallout NV and 3 both run pretty good. Even better with a lot of the mods that fix issues. Ran into some problems using this mod manager but have figured out the main problem. Doesn't install NVSE plugins. So I just manually install any plugins/scripts and let FOMM handle whatever else came with the mod. So when I download a mod I check if it has an NVSE folder and if it does I decompress the file, install the NVSE stuff manually, delete the NVSE files from the mod file, and then recompress it. FOMM takes care of the rest. Haven't tried MO2 or whatever but maybe at some point I will however I've seen people have the same plugin issue from posts I've read on the web
If I had to I would tell you to use NMM for fallout NV mods. If you get it set up right it wont steer you wrong. But a lot of people will tell you it sucks. I actually came back get because 9 years ago I download my first mod from this site and this was the one I used. After I got used to things and got better and installing stuff I binned it off and went to NMM, plus NMM has been updated as of last week, this hasn't had an update in 13 years. Would not recommend you still use it.
Regarding the Epic store games version of F:NV which is now free thus lots of folks may be trying to mod it and failing...the path for the fallout.ini file needs to be changed from "C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV" to "C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV_Epic", but that has to be changed by the FMM creator as I see no path option for the user to modify, and I'm sure there are other issues but that seems to be step one.
Also a custom launch command needs to be added by user "C:\games_epic\FalloutNewVegas\Fallout New Vegas English\FalloutNV.exe" to resolve the "can't find Steam ID" error.
Hopefully someone can take it from here. Would love to get mods working!
