Cripple your friends! Poison your enemies! This baby does everything it did in Fallout 3, plus a few new tricks I've added to supplement the new ammo creation feature in New Vegas ;)

As great as New Vegas is, it took away one of my favourite weapons - the Dart Gun, my first line of defense for crippling Deathclaws, and ever-present in my inventory. Well, here it is! Just like the original Dart Gun, it fires silently and makes an excellent addition to any stealth- or assasin-based character build or a useful weapon for sneaking into casinos for those stealth-challenged characters who find a Silenced .22 Pistol just doesn't cut it.

When you find the schematic, you can make it from a workbench just like the other NV custom weapons using:

Repair Skill: 35
Radscorpion Gland x4
Surgical Tubing x1
Toy Car x1
Paintgun x1

As for its location, I don't want to spoil it for people who like exploring, so its whereabouts will be revealed in the ReadMe file found in the RAR for those of you who want to seek it out straight away.

In addition to the Dart Gun, when you find the schematic you will also recieve three recipe notes on ammo creation which have been customed to make full use of Fallout NV's new alternate ammunition feature: Dart, Tranq Dart and Stun Dart.

Dart: Basic ammunition for the Dart Gun, as seen in Fallout 3. It poisons targets for a short time as well as crippling both of their legs to prevent them fleeing, lowering their mobility. More of them can be crafted by recycling the Spent Darts you will sometimes find on victims.

Tranq Dart: Alternate ammunition made from Bark Scorpion poison glands, the Tranq Dart requires a lot of materials to make, but knocks it's target unconscious for a short time.

Stun Dart: Stun Darts are the ultimate stealth weapon, but they also require a corresponding amount of difficult-to-acquire materials. Made from Cazadore poison glands, hit an enemy with a Stun Dart and they will be paralyzed for a short time, allowing you to make your escape... or finish them off while they're helpless!

The Dart Gun has been integrated into Fallout New Vegas, so expect to see the basic darts appearing in the inventories of vendors and scattered around the Mojave Wasteland (Hint: darts are technically not weapons until you use them in the Dart Gun, so check in or around residential areas or locations with a high number of scorpions). You won't be able to find or buy the rarer darts anywhere; they are potent weapons and purely custom-created to balance out their use, so you will have to hunt for your own materials.

Now get out there and show Benny how to leave someone for dead properly ;)

UPDATE: At the request of Necro47, I have added an optional download for low-level characters to find the schematic more easily towards the beginning of the game. Thank you for the suggestion!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ

Modders put a lot of time and effort into making new content for games, so if you like files, please endorse them. It only takes a moment, it shows appreciation for the work, and it's the best way a modder can know at a glance if they are successful in their endeavors; if people don't endorse a mod they like, I myself always assume that it isn't well-recieved and won't make any similiar things in the future. Thank you for your time :)

===============
Disclaimer:
===============

I have the greatest respect for my fellow modders, but I have intentionally avoided looking at any other mods that have been made for New Vegas for the time being - I want the modding practise for NV and I don't want to be discouraged from trying something if a similiar mod has already been created. So, if there is something similiar out there, feel free to avoid mentioning it to me. If you feel offended because something of mine is similiar to your own mod, the resemblance is purely coincidental, and instead be proud - great minds think alike ;)
