As in he wasn't able to keep it while in the casino, or he didn't get it back when you left the casino?
If it's the first one, that's expected: Holorifle isn't a holdout weapon. If it's the latter, that's one of the things this should fix. At the very least you should get the item back in your inventory.
I know my comment is really old now but I'm gonna correct it anyway. The reason the mod wasn't working for me doesn't have anything to do with the mod itself, not even NVSE or other plugin. It turns out it was because Windows Update uninstalled some of the C++ runtime libraries that New Vegas uses causing a lot of scripts in the game to silently crash. Sorry about the misleading comment.

4th time i am playing this game now over years, and the first time i get the equippment deleted at casino, i can't even get it back from the locker, because they do not have it either.
This mod won't address that unfortunately. This only prevents companion versions of normal holdout weapons from being taken away. Boone's Hunting Rifle doesn't count.
@querty2007: Is she losing the gun permanently, or just for a bit? Cass' shotgun is not a holdout weapon, so she shouldn't be able to take it into the casino.
Also, your patch version isn't the most current. You need to use the older version of this fix.
This does not work for me with the 1.2.0.285 patch: Cass keeps losing her shotgun when I go into the Gomorrah casino, even if I tell her to wait outside (!).
I'll be modifying this fix to work with Patch 1.2. As it turns out, a completely separate system handles ensuring that companion weapons aren't mistakenly handed to you. It's vaguely hacky, laggy, and not how I would have coded it, but it DOES work in every situation.
This Fix seems to be breaking the weapon removal/confiscation system for the Tops Casino. When I enter the Tops Casino, they doesn't remove any of my weapons. Deleting the 'fixed' script from the Tops Casino sloves the problem.
