It's a player only custom race so you have to start a new game and pick up one of the options labelled as "courier" as it won't alter an existing character.
If the new races don't show up chances are the esp is getting overwritten so you may want to check for conflicts (obviously other race mods).
Amazing concept, but the implementation isn't the best. Having a new race just for the texture change isn't very convenient. I mean, I don't know a better way of doing it, but still.
Doesn't help that I am playing TTW right now, and this mod doesn't fit in at all, because TTW is incompatible with race mods anyways, and the player character only gets shot in the Mojave, so I couldn't even pick this race in the Vault 101 sequence, because logic goes out the window and it's a time paradox!
Not having a new race would mean that EVERY other NPC would get the scar... How is that for a paradox?
The only other way to implement this idea would be to make the scar a wearable object (which is what they did in Point Lookout DLC for Fallout 3 by the way).
That brings up other problems though including the necessity to make it a quest item so it couldn't be taken away from the inventory, an invisible item so it can't be unequipped from the menu and there is the fact that the scar item would use a character slot and consequently equipping certain items could remove the scar (not only awkward but a problem since if the scar item is invisible in the inventory you wouldn't be able to equip it again -unless we came up with a work around like running a script on reload to make sure the scar item is equipped but in case of conflict that would unequip any item using the same slot).
As for TTW that's another thing altogether since like you said there is no real reason to use this with a Fallout 3 character in the first place.
Why is it way off. The bullet looks to have almost skid off the side of the PCs face. If that is were Benny hit you at point blank range, he must be a terrible shot.
I'm all for immersion but seriously how many times does the name of any character race actually come up in game? Once in the character creation screen. I think most of us can live with that. Besides it may be more convenient to know which is which if you're using several mods sometimes it can help having a pretty obvious name to keep track of things. I'm not saying it's not a good idea, just that it may not be of any use to most players and may even confuse things for casual players who may have forgotten they had this mod installed.
Anyway I've given indications on how to apply these changes if you want them in your game. If you already knew how to do it then it's fine.
I know how to do it, lol, I was just suggesting that you do it, so that it just appears to be the courier getting a scar, rather than choosing a race that has a scar
