I used a FG file created from Facegen, managed to transfer my newly created char with the FaceGen race, i exit the game use the program, but it looks nothing like the FG file.
Does anyone know how to import facegen files to FNV?

This thing is a life saver! Like the last fellow said it works perfectly both ways. Endorsed and one of the best mods that ever existed.

Just tested this to transfer faceGen data between FO3 and NV and it works perfectly both ways. Totally endorsed. Neat tool. Thank you.

?The clone of the old Bethsolft forums has this:

      • Open the geck, create a new .esp file by editing one of the npc preset of your character "race" (like "CGPresetCaucasianF01" for caucasian female preset 1 or "CGPresetHispanicM04" for hispanic male preset 4), change the hair for exemple and save (this will create a new esp files with your modification only)

      • Open FNV edit and select only the esp you created before. Browse in your esp and find the line with your modified "CGPreset" npc, click on it and go to facegen data, the will be 3 hexadecimal value.

      • Open facegen exchange and go find your savegame from F03 with your good-looking character and click "transfer". 3 hexadecimal code will appear.

      • Copy the three line in order from facegen exchange and replace the 3 line of facegen data of your esp. Be carefull in fnv edit, you will need to press shift and click on the value for change it, (it will open a long string editor) if you try to use the "edit" function it will break your esp.
Now launch fallout new vegas, select your esp in the launcher and start a new character or type "showracemenu" in the console for choose your custom preset and enjoy this great game :fallout:
There's also info back here on the delimiter error. HTH. :)

It works. Download manually, open zip, launch the installer, select where to install (can be anywhere), restart computer when asked, go to install location, launch FaceGen, select save game with the face you want (as input), select save game that you want the face to be on (as output), launch, wait until it says finish, then you are good to go.

Not a damn thing works. I tried everything! I downloaded the skins for the characters, tried to add to the save - the result: the remainder remains the same without changes, plus a file is added to the saves back up folder, which does not load. What am I doing wrong? Tell me please!

Seriously need to explain more how to use this. I get the delimiter error when trying to port a face I created in facegen and I read something about making sure it's the same race and gender but those features do not exist in facegen. The name and the description implies that this utility is for the exchange of information between facegen (specifically .fg files) and FNV. If it doesn't do this, you should at least state it clearly before someone spends another 6 hours working on a face that will never make it into the game.

Well this tool worked for me years ago so it took a while to find out what was wrong. It only imports the slide bars info, not the race/preset/etc. So you need to make sure the race/gender/preset (Asian/Caucasian... etc) of the destination file must be the same as the source. For hair changes, use showracemenu :D.

It works fine, although the interface isn't intuitive. For those who are having trouble using this utility:

    1) Open it _twice_. (And for goodness sake, keep track of which is which. Don't have the app instances overlapping or you'll never tell them apart.)

    2) Open your source save game file in the first instance of the app.

    3) Open your destination save game file in the second instance of the app.

    4) Select the first line of the source file. Control-C to copy.

    5) Select the first line of the destination file. Control-V to paste.

    6) Repeat for the second and third lines.

    7) The destination app's "overwrite" button will now be selectable. Click it. You're done. Don't expect feedback from the app, there isn't any.

You are my god. I was having dilimiter issues like crazy with my face that I spent 6 hours making (cant remake it due to slider behavior, already tried) and I was about to give up hope. Your trick worked for me. Copying the file destinations in one exe from another, trying it, getting the error then trying the original exe allowed me to bypass the dilimiter issue and get the face I wanted. Thank you!

What source file are you referring to in step 4? This application only has 2 fields. What are you referring to in step 6 with second and third lines? I confused.

I don't think they were even talking about the same program, unless there's a version I don't know about.
