Thanks for this. IMO... this should be in the "Community compilation bugs patch" thingy. Because getting rid of Ed-E's custom body seems like a error in JUDGEMENT.
yeah I was reading on the wiki that it changes his exterior, wasn't sure i wanted to get his upgrades, so now I can (if this works) and still keep the charming part of ed-e as well.

Find the upgraded versions in the geck.
go to model tab.
Uncheck the clean model,
check the unclean model.
voila!

I don't know. I've only done the armor upgrade at this point in the game. Sorry. If not just let me know and I'll update this when I get the chance.
