    I'd love to see this when the model gets done, perhaps you can also re-chamber the 9mm SMG? Historically, it was manufactured as a .45 SMG. Also, I'd like to be able to use the extended magazine mods. I'll check in periodically.

    actually in 1955 Argentine FMAP factory began making a copy of the M3 called the PAM1 that was chambered in 9mm

    at first im german so maybe i dont understand something, and i think im not really articulate in english, but...

    @windblownparrot:
    sr but what do you mean with desert eagle? its in the description that this mod uses the vanilla 9mm models. and the 9mm pistol in falloutNV looks exactly like the m1911 colt government wich would normally use .45 auto.

    @endosporium:
    with this attitude you cant use many mods! sometimes you dont need looking at pictures if you can read. its all in the description what you need.

    @tp555:
    i think what you mean is the Fabrique Nationale Browning High Power short FN HP or GP, but youre wrong! it isnt. it is the model of the colt. they look quite similar but the FN is a bit more elegant (its based on the colt).

    @romeosierra616:
    i dont know what you exactly mean with bolt assemblies but if you mean what we call "verriegelter verschluss" in germany youre half right: the m1911 didnt had it. but: every fifth good pistol since maybe 70 years does. i think the FN HP for example use it, but also the walther p38 and luger p08 (the numbers are standing for the years 1938 and 190 and many more.

    thanks, welcome, bye, mike

    edit: oh nearly forgot to ask - is there a different shooting anim, harder recoil ingame in comparison to the 9mm?

    yes, but when the movie was made, .44 was the most powerful production round available.

    The .44 magnum is NOT the most powerful pistol round in the world. The Smith and Wesson 500 magnum is the most powerful PRODUCTION model revolver in the WORLD.

    Just so you know, 1911's don't have bolts, actually I'm fairly certain no handguns (Aside from bolt action sporting pistols) have bolt assemblies, thats more rifles and shotguns lol

    Hey, don't know if this thread is dead, but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I personally love the 10mm round, even if it's not likely to be readily available in the post-apocalyptic future. But then again this is an alternate-history apocalypse.

    Anyway as far as I know right now the most common 10mm in the US is based on the 1911 frame, so a simple texture replacement would be appropriate. Plus, any 1911 can be converted to 10mm with a replacement barrel, so any brand or model would work. These are some of my favorites (never owned one, but have shot both Kimber and Wilson):

    -snip-

    I agree that the 10mm is a fine round for home defense or sport shooting (not for combat) and there are many 10mm versions of the 1911 series so a simple texture swap is fine.. but I have to point out that the most common 10mm in use in the USA is a Glock (most notably the 20 and 29 models not a 1911 base.. and to convert a 1911 .45 to 10mm you have to replace more than just the barrel.. you would also need to change the bolt assembly at the very least, and of course use different magazines .. The .45 ACP works at a much lower pressure and velocity, and the frame and slide of a lot of pistols designed to handle the .45 ACP cannot handle the greatly increased forces of a 10mm without substantial strengthening.. so if you were to say take a vintage 1950s model 1911a1 and just change the barrel and bolt assemble to a 10mm it would would not turn out well.. tho later models of 1911 like the Colt Delta Elite that were designed to use the 10mm auto would be fine...

    Auto Ordnance was producing 10mm Thompsons for a while, but I couldn't find one on their site. Again, though, with this you could use any cool looking SMG produced in .45 or .40, as either could handle 10mm depending on their quality.

    In the early 90s the FBI (who at the time was standard issuing 10mm tho they have since changed to issuing the .40cal now) has Auto Ordinance convert some of their Thompson 1927s to 10mm auto to test .. only a few were made and as I said before you can't just convert any .45 to a 10mm these Thompsons only retained the original furniture and had to have everything else completely replaced.. The FBI ultimately decided they just weren't useful enough and stuck with other model .45 and 9mm sub machine guns.. tho Auto Ordinance went on to produce a handful of completely new semi-automatic 10mm 1927s they are quiet rare.. saw on at auction at a gun show a year or two ago and it went for 5 or 6 grand where as a brand new Auto Ordnance .45 cal Thompson 1927 sells for around 1200 bucks

    not the MP5/10mm variant never did well and neither did the newer UMP-10mm variant because of the fact the 10mm auto has a much higher velocity and pressure than the .45 but less stopping power.. so while the round is more accurate and has a flatter trajectory the perceived recoil is higher than that of the .45 and in a weapon designed to function in full auto lower felt recoil and more stopping power will outweigh accuracy and trajectory every time .. this is also the reason the FBI and most organizations that use to use the 10mm now have changed either up to the .45, down to the 9mm or over to the .40 cal.. because for a medium strength round it just has no overall advantage outside sport shooting

    The model for the 9mm is based on the RL browming high power which has the grips and 13 round mag cap.

    I always figured the 10mm round was just a .40 S&W or 10mm Auto or something like that.
