i have a suggestion for a turn based sort of combat...you see ive been using your real time mod with normal damage to player. I'm also using a mod that gives you unlimited action points...ive found that if i limit my vats to one round intervals ie enter vats...cue one bullet, shoot...execute then repeat...the game plays like a sort of staggered turn base...instead of a long they move, you move kind of gameplay, its more short turns...since they are also moving and shooting in real time because of your mod...the only problem is i want to make weapons use up all your action points per one round, since the mod i use instantly replenishes action point after vats, i want to just shoot one round every vats turn...this keeps the action going and isn't overpowered...the enemies still get shots in on you. my suggestion is 2 fold to go with your collection of vats mods...1...being an instant action point restore rate and 2...a mod that changes all the weapons to use all your current action points per one shot in vats...i hope that all makes sense.
I noticed that even though the time is set to 1 for everyone, i find that VATS is much faster for the player than it would be in reality.
For example, lets say i have 3 enemies running towards me. With this mod, i can go into VATS and headshot all 3 of them instantly with a SMG. They literally drop dead before they can take another step. This would not be possible outside of VATS, if i wanted to shoot them normally, i would need to fire full auto for a few seconds and the spread would make the bullets go everywhere, and the enemies would be able to deal some damage to me in the meantime.
I think this might be due to two factors :
-Automatic weapons fire a large number of rounds per second. A 10mm SMG fires 9 rounds per second, if you only fire 6 rounds to kill 3 enemies, that basically means that it only takes 2/3rds of a second to kill them all. I think VATS also overrides spread, so if you have 95% chance to hit a head in VATS, that means 95% of your bullets will home in on the head which would be impossible outside of VATS (compared to semi auto weapons, where it is actually possible to do that with good aim)
-There is no min time for the VATS cameras anymore. With normal VATS, if you queue up 3 attacks, your character would pause between each attack.
The end result is that it looks quite ridiculous, enemies just drop dead without being able to do anything. I'm honestly not sure if the 1:1 timescale is working properly for enemies either, because my character seems to fire much faster than enemies can move or attack...I can easily kill a deathclaw with multiple shots in VATS before it can reach me.
Another problem is that kill cameras do not work well with this mod, using cinematic kill cams means that the kill cam stays there for a very long time.
I know it is a old mod, but is there any mod that simulates Fallout 3 VATS in NV? Little slower, but no turn based, with 0,1 player damage multiplayer?
considering the obnoxious kill cam, that freezes us until the cinematic ends, and let foes hit and kill us so many times in VATS: I wonder if the other way around it possible, if we could have all foes move so slow to a halt in VATS? I dont like the game getting easier, may be spending more action points could be balancing... but being frozen for a stupid cinematic (it is cool but not when it breaks the gameplay) so many times getting us killed, is infuriating :/
EDIT: oh u have the "turn based", I have to try it thx!
Well, I missed this mod in my travels until yesterday when troubleshooting some minor issues via tweaking.
In a nutshell, my VATS was causing freeze ups on me allot all of a sudden, why, no clue but I did add a few mods as of late.... anyway.
This mod has without a doubt helped me to avoid those freeze ups, of which I can only say seemed to bog my system down due to the length of time between target acquisition and the actual firing cinematic. My brother, although he is not a gamer as I am, said an interesting thing of note, maybe it was these new modded weapons causing such issues.... no clue myself, but that never occurred to me either.
Good job here author, love all the options and Endorsed (plus a bump lol...first comment since April
Regards all.
Edit: I'll return to endorse...gosh darn it, for some reason, my browser all of sudden keeps logging me out of all my sites, and this is the second time I've had to redownload a mod here just to endorse in two days.... maybe some security upgrade... oh well, I'll return to do my duty.
Wow, got impressed by the amount of modules, all regarding vats and so much useful in their own good. Very nice, tracking, will use it, most definitely.

Not sure if I'll update it any further tho.
Oddball_E8,
I could, but I don't have FNV atm on my PC, so CBA to do any updates. Don't have much time anyway.

Like matrix slow?
for both player and enemy so you could really see guns mechanics working and stuff like that.
