This has probably been answered before, but it's a little difficult sifting through 2668 other posts for the right one.

So, I got the game through a different source that isn't steam. I have nvse downloaded and I have THIS mod in the data folder, but whenever I try to run it, it crashes instantly and says something along the lines of "original exe modified -> executable headers failed to validate" and underneath "an unmodified exe is required, go to steam and validate your game cache"
I'm not using steam and I don't understand how to make it run.

You cannot have a valid (as in - legal) copy of FNV without Steam, and your problem demonstrates that. The game is telling you that it can't find the .exe it expects to find, probably due to the pirate .exe being hacked to bypass the Steam check, and crashes as a result. And you should be aware that openly admitting to having a pirated version is a bannable offense here on the Nexus.

Is this why they are now banned? lol I just thought it was funny that your response is about possibly getting banned and now they're banned.

Now, yes. When this was originally posted, no...that's the problem, along with his open admission of having a non-Steam version.

You could always check the forums for the reason someone was banned. It used to be true that Steam was the only valid way to "own" New Vegas, but that is no longer the case.

Is there some reason this program couldn't have just set the LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag and been done with it? I have no idea how to uninstall this now as it's definitely broken the game if you try to use NVSE with it.

Please help me. I am running Windows 10 64 bit, with a I7 6700k CPU and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti GPU. (All drivers are up to date.) I keep getting the "Steam Application load error 3:0000065432", and I can not load Fallout: New Vegas from the 4GB NVSE tool, the NVSE (w/o 4GB enabled), the launcher, or anything. -And yes, I have mods and an ENB. I tried moving my d3d9.dll to the exes folder, and it did nothing. I also removed my ENB temporarily in an attempt to launch the game. I verified my installation, everything is a-okay. I have brand new INIs and all. Whatever I do, I cannot launch Fallout: New Vegas. I just built this beast of a computer 5 days ago, and I really wanna enjoy Fallout: NV with an ENB and mods for the first time in 60 FPS. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it beyond words.

    Thanks,
    Erik

Guys, DO NOT USE THIS. There is an updated version, just search "updated" in the Nexus and it will come up.

Is there any chance this could work with the nexus mod manager? I'm having trouble getting it to work from it.

I'm a little late, but all you have to do is extract the file, and then place/copy the files into your Fallout New Vegas directory, and then run it.

Edit - I was slightly wrong, you also need the "fnv4gb_helper.dll" file in your directory too. In the "Videos" section on the nexus page, there's a helpful tutorial on the process.

It says "no results" when I click on the "Videos" section.
edit: I somehow posted multiple times and I did not mean to do that. I don't know how to delete those.

edit 2: I just did it manual.
