I give this my endorsement also, it works very well. I am disappointed that I cannot just edit the PE header and set the the large address aware flag plus fix the checksum like I can with Fallout 3 and Skyrim. Steam will puke an error if you do that... so this loader solves the problem.

However it doesn't exit properly in Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. I have to kill the process by hand every time.

Avast is probably unhappy with the fact that this launcher directly alters the content of a program file, and so reports that activity as a virus. But that is what this launcher must do in order to do its job - it sets the Large Address Aware bit within the .exe, which enables the 32-bit program to take better advantage of it 4 GB memory address space while running.

Avast is Notorious for false positives. I use Norton 360 and I get no virus warning.

The problem i am having now with 4GB is the game freezes on the startup of the game when i am with doc. I cant put my name in i cant press escape. Any suggestions on the cause. I have this in the target in the shortcut. "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\fnv4gb.exe" -SteamAppID 22380

I have a question about this? How do i get this mod to work in conjunction with the mod manger and NVSE. Because i always launch the game from the mod manager.

Never mind i work it out.

Although I can't say that using this has completely eliminated all game crashes, it does seem like they are FAR less frequent. I also used to have an issue where as I progressed through the game, my saves would load progressively slower, and this seems to be nearly eliminated as well. So I have no problem endorsing this, especially in setups with lots of mods.

Unfortunately NVSE isn't loaded with the newer version, and the build in nvse.silverlock.org doesn't work in Windows 8. I'd need both, but unfortunately currently it doesn't seem to be possible. I tried running it with parameters:
    -exe "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\nvse_loader.exe"
    -extradll nvse_1_4ng.dll

But former doesn't recognize the fallout exe any longer and latter doesn't seem to affect anything, just loads the basic Fallout NV launcher.

I have given this file my endorsement.

    My game loads faster
    My world cells load faster
My frames increased at least 10fps
My sprinting, turning, and texture load times are decreased
If you are running a 64bit OS, there is no reason not to use this "mod." I say "mod" because this very nice piece of work is something the devs should have provided for players themselves and did not.
Thanks for making this, its a must have!
