It would be nice if this mod also made energy weapons cost more than regular guns to balance this

An idea so nice, the devs just copied and modified it. To be honest, energy weapons shouldn't have been so weak in the base NV. I admire Obsidian in general, and JE Sawyer as a writer, but sometime they make HUGE mistakes like energy weapons balance in New Veas.

EVE only edits physical appearance, hence the name Essential Visuals Enhanced.

This mod only affects ammo and the Plasma Spaz perk. EVE doesn't touch either one. So, yeah, YisahVasNarri is right. They should be completely compatible.

I wonder why many people focus on how much more powerful this mod makes their weapons when the #1 draw of this mod is the fact it finally makes enemies who use laser weapons something to worry about.

I am playing a pretty hardcore version this time through (hp 124 endurance X7 no level up hp, 1/4 XP, max backspeed run 50%, and so on) pretty much in a gun fight I expect to get a limb crippled if I take a shot wearing medium armor and dont expect to live more then 3-4 shots total.

Now I mention this because all was going great till I got to still in the darkness qeust and for fun decided to fight the brotherhood that comes after you tell the ranger. The RCW. and 2 laser rifles barely scratched me, I mean it was pathetic. I literally stood infront of the guys with 18 DT (medium metal armor no implant yet) and barely took any damage. It was an utter joke. So after alt tabbign and quickly looking for a mod to fix this (again I enjoy the challenge) I found this mod and with the mod set list i'm running, Laser weapons did similiar, if not exactly, the same damage i'd expect in a fight vs gun wielders. I would survive short bursts of fire but not sustained. So very well balanced i'd say.

Also since this mod only modifies ammo its compatible with mods that alter guns (I play also with a mod that makes it so guns do more damage but dont level up with skill. So kudos on the fine mod. The balance seems great but I think MF OC ammo having -12 DT might be a bit much.

To be fair even in Fallout 2 laser rifles where crap against metal armor since metal armor had a high laser resistance.

Is there anyway to fix the incompatibilities between WMX? It seems the weapons affected by this mod no longer get the changes with weapon mods.

Great idea for a mod, even though devs patched the issue, I preffered the idea of more varied armor penetration. I've changed the values a bit for my own liking (ex: MFC MC now has -15 DT), but for the idea and effort you have my endorsement and thanks!

So is this mod still relevant?
You mentioned it has been implemented via offical patch?

...Sorta. They did a flat rate for all energy weapons while this mod varies the AP power according to which E-weap cell. But, as this thread on the BGSF evidences, I think my mod here may have inspired that fix in the official patch.
