Use JIP CCC, it has an option to force companions to equip certain weapons and armor.

Why does this work only on certain companions?
    Cass - Yep
    Arcade Gannon - nope
Christine in Dead Money - nope

Which directory should I paste de esp file? I've tried "FalloutNewVegas", "Fallout New Vegas English" and "Data" but none of them worked.

I figured out. It's the "Data" folder and when you open the launcher, you have to check the dressup.esp file in "Data Files".

Mod isn't working for some reason. Keep trying to give Veronica different outfits but she won't wear them. Faction or not. I don't get how this is working for most people here and not me. Do I need to do something more than copying and pasting the .esp into the installation folder?

If you're using this in Vortex Mod Manager, make sure the .esp is actually enabled in the plugins section, as it doesn't always get enabled when you install or re-install it.  Also, for the Epic Games Store version at least, when I enable this mod (at least with other mods, like YUP) for me, I can't load quicksaves.  The loading screen goes on forever, but it never actually finishes loading, and I have to control+alt+delete and kill new vegas in the task manager.  Regular saves work fine though, oddly enough.

I wouldn't be shocked if other mods have this issue where they're not compatible with quicksaves, but regular saves work fine.

"This is just a simple edit of some items and faction scripts, so I assume it shouldn't affect anything majorly. That said, I am in no way responsible for any bugs, bad experiences, paranoia, or thoughts of suicide you may have as a result of using this mod. Use at your own (low) risk."

bruh what i thought this is just mod that has companions wear any armor.
    1. It does allow you to remove the armor from your companions, try using it in conjunction with the mod "JAM - Just Assorted Mods" (or the "JIP Companions Control" mod, I can't remember which did the following) which can allow you to tell your companions to wear specific outfits. Makes them work like Fallout 4 in that regards.

How did you install this mod on your PS3? I didn't even think that was possible.

Works flawlessly in 2022, thank you so much! Getting to play with Cass without her hat has been perfect <3

Currently using this in 2021. Works great! And I like the option of companions still refusing to wear certain faction armors.

Well, there's one caveat. I downloaded the "Veronica no hood" mod prior to this but disabled it before enabling this one, thinking I won't need it anymore. That led to frequent crashes until I turned it back on. Now this mod won't work WITHOUT "Veronica no hood." There's no ugly hood either way, and the game is working fine so far so I can't complain. It's just weird.

Did you make a bashed pack with the earlier mod on? If yes, then you added a dependency to your mod list. Another thing might be that this mod replaced something from no hood mod when you enabled it for a first time, making it dependent on no hood mod. Or it maybe some other kind of conflict because of both mods replacing same file.
