Crash to desktop a second after launching New Vegas. It doesn't even load to the main screen, so it's not an character inventory issue for sure. This mod has the right idea, but sadly just isn't working for some people. Besides, after finding out the simple console command to set player carry weight, I don't see how this mod is necessary.
"player.forceav carryweight 50" is the command for a 5 strength character with a base carry weight of 50. Add or subtract 10 for each point of strength above or below 5 -- ie. a player starting with 4 str = "player.forceav carryweight 40". You can of course replace "50" with whatever you want your base carry weight to be. NOTE: save and quit to desktop then reload your game if you want to re-enable Steam achievements, as using the console for anything will cause achievements to be disabled until you completely quit the game (to the desktop, not just the main menu) and restart.
Just a quick shoutout to everyone that dled this mod - thx for putting it in the top 10% of all mods in this category to be dled (112 out of 1119 mods).
Using the console also disables achievements for that game session...you can save then reload to activate the achievements again. This mod suffices that.

Hope everyone enjoyed it!
Sorry you're having a problem - what other mods are you loading and what is your character level?
Using console is more easy.
