Despite Fallout 3 was the first game I played in the franchise, New Vegas became my favourite when I realised I had a lot more freedom. Fallout 1 and 2 are close though. ;)
Truth be told, it took me a while to get into New Vegas - I'd played a ton of Fallout 3 and one run of Fallout 1 beforehand and really expected it to be more like Fallout 3. Took one and a half playthroughs and some experimentation with mods before it truly clicked, and even after that there was a decent chunk of time where I still preferred F3 over all - until I returned to it with heightened standards that is.
my first saw FNV wasn't good, because the ugly looking characters, wasteland, everything, but now it's fixed, corrected and changed by amazing modders like Millenia and Zack Layton,Roy Batty for his weapon texture and mesh,tapioks,NeilMc_NMC,Mental Gear,MadAce for his textures and collision meshs for the wasteland,Asurah,C16,joefoxx082,AmaccurzerO for his animations,Drumber,Dracomies and Weijiesen for his character retexture and visuals, and there a lot more.
I had to play New Vegas on the Xbox 360 for years, which made me felt more used to the outdated visuals the game had (and Fallout 3). Back then, I always envied modders until I bought a laptop and fell in love with the mods. Despite I currently own a much better computer, I strangely keep the game's visuals the same, while fixing the bugs and adding more quality for life mods that will enhance my overall experience. I will eventually the textures, add an EMB and install up to date models once I replace my computer around 2-3 years?
