AI-Generated Content and Process:

ElevenLabs:
Utilizing elevenlabs.io, I employed AI Voice cloning and Speech Generation to craft a mod that uses the unforgettable voices of Fallout: New Vegas.

The Process:

  • Extracted .ogg files based on voicetype from the Fallout - Voices1.bsa, located in Fallout New Vegas/data.
  • Scoured through what was extracted to find the files with the greater file size (bigger file size = greater duration)
  • Used ElevenLabs.io, subscription required, to make clones of the voices with the files that were extracted.
  • Went between GECK and ElevenLabs to generate the dialogue.
  • ElevenLabs exports the voice files in .mp3, so I used Audacity to export the files into .wav, so they could be used by GECK. I exported the files to the data/sound/voices folder.
  • Went to each line of dialogue in GECK, renamed the voice file belonging to the desired line to "temp", clicked "Save" in GECK's dialogue window to generate the .lip and .ogg files for the desired line.
  • Rinse and Repeat step 6 until finished.

NexusMods and AI-Generated Content:
I also wish to acknowledge Nexus Mods' stance on AI-Generated Content in Modding, which you can read about here: AI-Generated Content in Modding
Voice Actors and Characters:

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the accomplished voice actors who lent their talents to bring the game's characters to life. Should any voice actor have concerns about the inclusion of their work in my mod, I am fully committed to addressing their wishes promptly. If necessary, I am prepared to temporarily remove the mod and eliminate any associated dialogue and files.

Voices and Roles:

Let's celebrate the enduring impact of these voice actors' performances and express gratitude for their contributions to the world of Fallout: New Vegas.
