1. There are conversation skill checks (although mostly Dipimacy/Intimidate and not Bluff) and some search/spot triggers (lots of hidden passages to find) 2. There is crafting available, OC and MotB style, although high gems are very scarce 3. You get: ranger, rogue, cleric, fighter, wizard (with feats for arcane scholar), wizard/fighter for eldrich knight 4. OC death style 5. Finished at lvl 13 6. Dungeons are clearly coming from PnP, because they are designed to reasonably quickly find the objective, not explore the whole thing. Basically any fork you take, will lead to the objective. A bit of a pain if you're trying to explore everything, because it can be a bit confusing. 7. You can go back to previously visited places, so don't worry about shopping
What I really liked:
1. Cool story, although Act 4 is pretty bare bones and extremely short. 2. Decent quests, however Act 3 has quite a lot of running back and forth 3. Shortcut exits from dungeons
Bugs I've experienced:
1. The thieves guild quest is broken. The NPC we're supposed to talk to spawns in the guild house not in the White Knight, but even if we talk to her and progress the quest, the merchant never spawns in the inn. 2. The guy who is supposed to give you prize for killing Tanari, spawns in White Knight and not in Wearbear as the journal suggests. But at least you can get your prize when you find him!
I played this campaign when it first came out and just started it again. I'm in the third chapter and I am stuck and would really appreciate some help! I am in the mountains looking for the Aerie of the Slavelords and have been wandering around for hours (real time), but I can't find it. Could somebody please tell me exactly where the entrance is?
I thought it might be through one of the caves, but there was no way to other side unless there's a glitch in my game (I'm on a Mac so it wouldn't be out of the question). I even tried to have the dm teleport me to the entrance, but I just end up in the center of the path above the caves.
H, I've posted about this on the Vault too. I'm trying to play this module with a friend and neither of us can start the campaign - we get a message saying the module can't be loaded and might be corrupted. We've tried the both the new and old .mod files available here, as well as the version on the Vault (there's also another post there by someone else unrelated to us, so not an isolated issue), with the same result.
Holy cow, loving the s*** out of your modules lately. Thanks for taking so much time to craft them for us, this was a totally Gygaxian old school hack and slash delight - played through this with a party that is now taking on your Giants mod. Can't believe you're going to take on this whole sequence, what a fun campaign to play through all of them.
This really brought back memories of PnP sessions, tho we never got too far along in any of these -- so nice to see them through to the end!
I'm in Highport. I found the hidden basement, went in, and tried talking to the people there, but they are acting as if I have already gone through an introduction scene with them, which I haven't. One will remind me of missions I have yet to find about about, two will offer to join me (But won't). The first mission 'Meet X', I can't do because X isn't there, so I guess I'm stuck.
If there's something I've missed, I'd appreciate a pointer.
Read the message (It's sent in the notification e-mail), but apparently I can't use the PM system (No idea what that's about, as I've never actually tried before), so I can't directly reply.
I am having this problem, and the problem is the link to the web site is no longer works, and I can't find the solution on any web site where the module is posted at.
NICE! glad to see someone else loves the classics. Looking forward to playing this. Downloading it now. Also looking forward to Your Queen of spiders one too. I tried making ones for Queen with the HL2 engine. It looked great, but it was still HL2 running around the demonweb, and her spider ship. Also did maps for the Frost Giants, Tomb of horrors, White plume Mountain, Keep on the borderlands, the shrine of kuatoa, and Expedition to barrier peaks. All on the HL2 engine, so again no RPG aspect. I'm gonna have to see what's possible with NWN2 toolkit. I was thinking Expedition for an idea, but that would require making robot models. So White Plume might be an idea. Anyways, Thanks for posting this!
The Liberation of Geoff occurs years after the original story line and will not be included. I have the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief and the Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl nearly completed. I am still trying to decide if they will be released as small campaigns G1-3 Against the Giants, D1-2 Descent into the Depths of the Earth, etc. or if I will wait for one big campaign, Queen of the Spiders. Either way, it will be a while until things are ready.

Found the entrance - thank you Travis!

Will you include some of the supplemental material too? Such as
The Liberation of Geoff?

I would be perfectly happy to wait if you decide to release it all together as Queen of the Spiders.
