Back story
The story so far yourtory
Your adventure started some eight months ago on a small back road connecting the main north south road from Neverwinter to Waterdeep and the Thunder tree road. Close to this lay the Lake of Sorrows, upon which stand the towns of Thunder Bay and Lakeside. It was in Lakeside that your adventures began.
At the start you were asked to look into the closing of the local quarry by kobold. This you did making some discoveries along the way and a few enemies too. To balance this you became close to the residents of the town and travelled with Ember the rogue, who was to become your constant companion, and Solace the ranger who would travel with you as it suited her.
Once the towns immediate issues were dealt with you were taken on by Ormin, the town Cleric. He tasked you with helping a friend of his, Minualwen, a priestess of Mielikki. That work took you too many wonderful places and brought you closer to Solace, who travelled with you as a representative of the Mielikki temple. While exploring a vast complex known as The River Cave you came across a portal. It took you to a basement in Waterdeep, owned, as you later found, by the wizard Mortimer Lestry. In your invasion of his property you made a firm enemy who was to cast a shadow over all your activities from that time forward as, even though you did not realise it, your actions had started to confound his plans.
Your work completed for Ormin he informed you of the imminent death of his master and mentor, Lord Tysan. He was to travel to Thunder Bay to meet Tysan before he died but before that could happen Ember, in a fit of rage murdered a priest of the Lathander temple. Ormin explained that all may not be as it seemed and invited you to follow him to Tysans residence to sort out your issues. Your adventures moved to Thunder Bay.
Ormin was keen to assist his lord in the achievement of a certain goal of his. That was to clear his name with Nasher Aligondar who, because of supposed transgressions by Lord Tysan was busy subdividing his lands held in trust and awarding them to the Lathander temple. In doing so he was stripping Hal Tysan, Lord Tysans son, of his inheritance. Helping Ormin and Tysan was to take you to the highest peaks and deepest parts of Faerun and, along the way, introduce you to two new companions. Honour Lestry who is with you still, and Harald Goodwinson a mercenary looking to clear his own names and free himself of the ghosts that haunted him.
With Hal Tysan given back is inheritance and you yourself reaching mastery in your trade you find yourself in possession of a great house and having the lordship over Lakeside, where it all began for you. Before you could enjoy the fruits of your labour however there were some tasks to carry out first.
The first of these was the retrieval of Hal Tysans sister from her place in hiding. During this quest you were assisted by Alan Baxter, the soldier in charge of the militia in Thunder Bay, and Honour who finally returned to you after travelling back to visit her uncle. Ember, for the first time, went her own way and took up a post as the spymaster for Hal Tysans household. With Lord Tysans family safe again one last thing was asked of you.
Lord Tysans wife Morag had gone missing. You had never really had a good relationship with her but Hal Tysan requested that you help him find his mother regardless. Find her you did, after many adventures but, just as you had her safe in your care she was taken into the wall of the faithless, to rescue her, you had little choice but to follow. Finally, on your return you found the town of Thunder Bay and Lakeside at peace. With your new home not completed yet you find yourself with little to do. You spend the winter of 1375 drinking and gambling, waiting for the onset of spring.
The Story so far Honours tale.
This is Honours tale as you know it or can piece it together from the Tales from the Lake of sorrows campaign.
Honour was raised in Waterdeep by her Uncle. She is one of three children, all girls, the others being Faith and Mercy; twin sisters who she is older than by two years.
Honours mother, Maria Lestry was a notable debutant in Waterdeep who was well known for her wild parties and the string of lovers she kept from among the, often married, men of Waterdeep. Her father Richard Lestry, was a renowned and successful adventurer. He travelled extensively with his bother Mortimer Lestry. When Honour was six her father died on an adventuring accident and Mortimer returned alone. Within day of his return he threw Maria Lestry out of her family home, declared her unfit to raise the girls and took them into his own home. Honour never saw her mother again though Mortimer often told Honour tales of how debauched her mother was and still was even after being thrown out of the house. Honour grew to dislike and eventually hate her errant mother.
You gather that Honours life as she grew up was hard though she is not specific when describing it. She was certainly bullied by her sisters and the over bearing Mortimer Lestry and was not allowed to leave the house until the point where she left to meet your character, though meeting you was not her intention.
After your party entered Mortimer Lestrys basement via a portal set up by Mortimer for his own devious ends, Honour was sent to accompany a party whose intent was to have you killed. Honours reasons were more complex than simply wanting to be out of the house for a while. She had a crush on the ranger LJ (Long John) and followed to improve her relations with him. That did not work out and Honour found herself alone once your party finished off her companions and LJ went off with another woman.
Honour joins your party rather than returning to Mortimer directly and travelled with you for the remainder of your work to clear the name of Lord Tysan and secure his sons inheritance. She became a valued party member and struck up a friendship with Ember and Harald, your other two companions. She showed herself to be capable but nave and to have a rather warped sense of humour and a strange attitude to death. She left at the end of that time with no guarantee that she would ever return.
Return she did, during your next mission for Lord Tysans son you met Honour in a roadside inn, standing amongst the burned out ruin that she had created. Several men had tried to rape her having been sold to them by the innkeeper who thought she was a vagrant. She had exacted a terrible revenge upon them and was beside herself with grief and pain when you met her. She had returned to her uncle only to be badly mistreated by him for not killing you the first time around. He has tortured her to get the information he needed then left Honour under the mercy of her sisters who beat her so badly then tore the flesh on her torso with their mailed gloves then left her for dead In her cell. She escaped using her magic and came looking for you with the help of a stolen divination scroll. She joined you again and vowed never to go back to her uncle again.
Over the next few months Honour travelled with you and Ember forming one of only two core members of your party. She was with you when you entered the wall of the faithless and the vault of the damned.
In the wall of the faithless something strange happened, something wonderful for Honour. She was approached by a spirit claiming to be her father. They spoke for a short while and told her how proud he was of her. She begged him for information to allow him to be brought back from the dead but he was not allowed to give it. Instead he gave her a series of numbers. These first appeared cryptic but turned out to be the time and date of his death. Using the books in the library of the dead, Honour was able to write down her fathers true name.
After your adventures were over she became obsessed with finding her father and getting him back, to the point where she was not longer eating properly and stank from lack of clothes changing and poor personal hygiene. As your own relationships with the other party members broke down you saw less and less of Honour.
That was, until today
