Wht is this so complicated to get working and yet the BG editor EE Keeper is just plug and play, it can't be that hard to make this more user friendly can it
I"m such a dummy, i simply looked at the Description tab & Last updated section of the mod and simply assumed the information there is ancient hence of no use, roughly around the time when windows 8 was a thing no less. But i completely forgot to check the Posts tab. Dagnammit! I wasted all my time looking everywhere around the web just to make the damn editor work! "Insert your favorite crying meme here" TO THE FUTURE ME! Target: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\javaw.exe" -Xmx256m -DNWN2.install.path="G:\Games\Neverwinter Nights 2" -jar NWN2Editor.jar Start in:"G:\Games\Neverwinter Nights 2\NWN2 Editor" Just move the NWN2 Editor folder to this path or edit the Start in path to mach the NWN2 Editor location!
after a long while i finally got it to work but i can't even get it to work for my baldur's gate reloaded save game character so it was a complete waste of time
Incorrect, I just used it with the latest version of java, instead of a path for the javaw.exe, just put javaw and windows will fill it with the correct path when you click ok
took me 30 minutes to fix. 1. The problem: the java version used to create this editor is so old it cant read spacebar in the parth of the so called "NWN2Editor.lnk". but the new java versions are installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_211\bin\javaw.exe". as you can see "Program Files (x86)" uses spacebar twice. 2. Solution: move java in an folder so that pathing doesnt require spacebar. I moved java from "C:\Program Files (x86)" to "C:\ProgramData". my parth in the "NWN2Editor.lnk" using a GOG version is therefor: C:\ProgramData\Java\jre1.8.0_221\bin\javaw.exe -DNWN2.install.path="C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete" -jar NWN2Editor.jar

TO THE FUTURE ME!
Target: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\javaw.exe" -Xmx256m -DNWN2.install.path="G:\Games\Neverwinter Nights 2" -jar NWN2Editor.jar
Start in:"G:\Games\Neverwinter Nights 2\NWN2 Editor"
Just move the NWN2 Editor folder to this path or edit the Start in path to mach the NWN2 Editor location!
--find your javaw.exe and create a desktop shortcut from it.
--Right Click it and go to properties.
--Add this to "Target" : -Xmx256m -DNWN2.install.path="E:\NWN2 Complete" -jar NWN2Editor.jar (Change Accordingly)
--Change the "Start In" to where you put the NWN2Editor , for me is "D:\Cheat & Stuff"
-- Thats it.
You add this after you java location
EX: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath\javaw.exe" -Xmx256m -DNWN2.install.path="E:\Games\Neverwinter Nights 2 - Platinum Edition" -jar NWN2Editor.jar
Reason?
still working.. (07/2023)
Only wanna to mention that some older files are blocked by windows,
Go to properties of the file and mark the box to admit it
I think thats a problem of windows 11 ... (i didn ´t noticed it on windows 10)
C:\Program Files \Java\jre-1.8
My neverwinter nights 2 install location -
E:\NWN2 Complete
My save games folder -
C:\Users\Godzilla\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\saves
Help me.Editor do not work.
1. The problem:
the java version used to create this editor is so old it cant read spacebar in the parth of the so called "NWN2Editor.lnk".
but the new java versions are installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_211\bin\javaw.exe".
as you can see "Program Files (x86)" uses spacebar twice.
2. Solution:
move java in an folder so that pathing doesnt require spacebar.
I moved java from "C:\Program Files (x86)" to "C:\ProgramData".
my parth in the "NWN2Editor.lnk" using a GOG version is therefor:
C:\ProgramData\Java\jre1.8.0_221\bin\javaw.exe -DNWN2.install.path="C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete" -jar NWN2Editor.jar
I hope i could help
