I decided to try this via multiplayer. So far there have been no gaming killing issues. The dialogs are only seen by the person who initiates them, but other than that, it works fine. That said...it has been fun. Glad I decided to try it.
What a great module! I started up the quest but I cant get out of waterdeep! How do I go to a different part of of the city? Most modules have big blue circles marking area transitions.
Seems to me like this is going to be good fun... haven't had a solo dungeon crawl with this character yet, and so far this "feels" enough like Undermountain to call it a worthy adventure. Besides a tendency to crash on area transitions more often than not, everything in the first few hours looks good and works well. I was wondering when the crazy was going to get turned up (being Undermountain, it's to be expected), and then you turned my Erinyes Ranger into a stumpy beardless sack of potatoes. Being a dwarf is fine, but what kind of dwarf doesn't have a beard? Woman or not, that's not a dwarf at all!

I looked into it and figured out why Johanna wont give you the books (I put a 8 instead of 80 in a condition check). If you have a save game, go back, talk to Melair again, and join the clan. (Don't worry, you can change back at the end if you want) You need the journal entry from Johanna giving you the books for the closing conversation to fire. sorry. I'm just getting ready to release v1.2 and this issue will be addressed along with a few others.
Thanks for the fast answer! I don't have a save from that far back. Actually, I was originally turned into a dwarf and restarted lol! Can you give me a script that will get her to give me the papers or a cheat code for the papers? If not, I guess I'll wait for the update and start over.
hey Karen, what you need is a journal update. the category is "um_lvl4_b_lostlevel" entry 100. Sorry for the mix-up. I had a hard time getting any beta testers to run through the .mod, so a few bugs may have slipped through. I put up a new version last night that addresses these issues.
I tried the code you gave me, but I keep getting the message "unsuccessful execution" although I tried several times. I think I may be entering the code incorrectly or not leaving spaces that need to be there or something. Could you please write out the whole code exactly the way I have to enter it? I would really appreciate it - I really want to finish the mod!

I got some help from a friend who gave me a code and it says it's "successful," but the journal isn't updating and I'm still being told to come back for the papers. Something must be missing. The code I used was rs ga_journal("um_lvl4_lostlevel",100,1,0,0). I would really appreciate some help!
Hey Karen. you should try to update the journal again. this time try entry 110. If it updates, head back to town. Janaxil will think you have the books and reward you appropriately. As long as the journal updates, it doesn't matter if you really have the books or not. sorry for the mess up. this problem was fixed with v1.2
Looks interesting, but I have no idea from the description whether I would be using a single character, generating a party, or recruiting companions along the way. I would appreciate it if you could clarify. Thank you
I've been enjoying the mod but ran into some trouble and would appreciate some help!

We killed the vampire but she "turned into smoke and went under the door." I can't get to the tomb - there is no hidden entrance on either side so we can't "stake her" if that is what we need to do. I don't know if this is a game breaker though.
My second problem is that when I go back to the librarian for the papers she keeps telling me to come back later even though I already told her about her brother. Do I just try to leave or am I missing something? I also have two "spider" keys that don't open anything and the description says they're short swords! What am I supposed to do with them, if anything?

The librarian will not give you the books until you have cleared the temple and dealt with Bandaerl.
The spider key is for a non-crucial secret area in the drow prison that you missed. There should've only been one key. I think there is a bug left over from when this was a multi-player PW area. I need to look into that and change the description too. oops

Hey Karen, it's been a few years since I uploaded my avatar, but I think you need to make a profile in the forums. I think they are separate for some reason.
I agree it does look interesting, but for such a large module it has a very... lacking description. Users of the original may know exactly what to expect, but I for one had never heard of it, and know next to nothing, even from your description. I may download it anyway, but a detailed description would be great, especially for your mod's potential popularity.

I don't usually go for hack and slash but I really enjoyed your mod - it was well done with good area design and puzzles.
