Is there something more to installation than just dumping everything into the localvault folder? I ask because I wanted to try an all-animal party in Storm of Zehir, and while the wolf came out fine, the rabbit used a rat model and the cat used a beetle model.
So... Am I doing something wrong or missing a step, or is there a way to fix this? Because looking like a beetle takes 95% of the charm away from playing as a cat.
Just a note for anyone else specifically looking for cats - some of the labels are a bit mixed up, is all. You can play as a cat, it's just labelled as a bat.
I've played around with this a bit and it seems to work as advertised. One thing I noticed is that unlike Okku in MotB, these creatures can level up as any character class they can qualify for. There is no "beast" class in other modules to restrict this. While a spell casting wizard's familiar might be cool, a spell casting ranger's companion sounds a little over the top to me.
They can also equip all normal arms and armor. I did not test this but I assume they would also be able to use these weapons in combat.
Any thoughts on how hard it would be to make these creatures level up more like Okku?
