I've had this working in the past, and I'm not really sure as to the problem as I've tried both .ini files. I have Oblivion and Nehrim in the same folder outside of program files. I keep getting errors regarding Unable to load CTL file, cannot load the atmosphere model, cannot load stars, and cannot load clouds. Then the CS crashes. It still loads Oblivion just fine. All I want to do is flag the guard armors in Nehrim as playable and drop down a chest full of them.

Hi, I'm getting the same problem with the CS (missing assets etc.)... even with the new ini. For me all the comments about steam directories etc are not applicable as I have the GOG version. Did you ever find an explanation for the behaviour that you observed? This may help me to find out what to fix.

Hello, After launching the CS and getting the CTL files message the program shuts down (quietly).  Everything is installed correctly Steam Oblivion and Nehrim. Game launches ok through Steam or via MO. Don't know what to do. Do I need to tweak your ini ? Thanks for your reply and help.

I'm getting the exact same problem. Having to reinstall the construction set because of it.

Is the construction set in the same directory... After I installed default, I basically copied the program files to the one where nehrims files are then created a new shortcut for it on desktop

Hello, how do I set up the CS for Nehrim? Installed it when Nehrim was active (so it was in the "Oblivion" folder, and Oblivion was in "Oblivion_BACKUP") and replaced the ini, but I get the error "Unable to load CTL file" and it cloeses. In Oblivion, it works, even when it is in the _BACKUP folder.

Is Nehrim (and Steam) in the Programs folder? If so, you need to move it ouside (just move the library somewhere else) because the CS doesn't like files in the Program folder.

No, it's not, it is in a separate games folder on C:. So are Steam and Oblivion.

Make sure the ini was not overwritten then.

Strange, suddenly it works. Maybe some recent update to Nehrim fixed it? Thanks, anyway.

Even though I fixed it manually, I am still proud to be your first endorsement.
Thanks for uploading it. Will be helpful for a lot of people who simply want to get it quickly to work. :D

Also thanks for making sure Nehrim gets an own Nexus hub.

    Cheers

No, thank you! I hope modders will port their Nehrim mods to the steam version, hopefully it's just a matter of fixing the master esm. But I can't wait to see new mods coming out as well!

Nehrim got it's own Nexus Mods base? Nice. Still need to play it myself.

Yeah, almost every Nehrim mod made for the Oblivion mod version will need to be fixed / patched, a Nexus mods site was definitely needed :)

Will Nehrim: At Fate's EdgeMods install and start with a separate Oblivion just like the latest version of Enderal does for Skyrim?

Unfortunately that's not the case. The devs had to come up with a different solution than with Enderal.

1.) You have to install Nehrim AND Oblivion both into your Steam directory (the true one, not a copy where you just install your games at).
2.) This directory should NOT be located in the "Program Files" of your C: drive.
3.) If you have done that and start Nehrim, you will get into a Switcher. With that one you can easily switch between Nehrim and Oblivion.
It simply will move all content of Nehrim into the Oblivion folder, as it won't work otherwise.
4.) If you chose Nehrim, the true Nehrim Launcher will start where you can set up your game's settings.
5.) You can now play Nehrim. OBSE and a few other mods are already integrated:
      WalkBlessed OBSE Plugin (diagonal move)
      Harvest Flora for Nehrim
      Enhanced Music and Control 2
      Vacuity
      Blockhead
      Nehrim Experience Progress Bar
      Menu Alt-Tab Crash Fix
      Denock Arrow
      Nehrim English Supplemental
      Oblivion Character Overhaul version 2
      Nehrim Landscape LOD Textures
      ENBoost

6.) You can switch back to Oblivion by using that Switcher Tool again, but I wouldn't ever do that as I am already through with Oblivion on many different ways. ^^
So I cannot tell how good that works.

"This directory should NOT be located in the "Program Files" of your C: drive."

Yikes, Steam expects to find Oblivion in my Program Files (X-86) folder. Is this "should not" just a recommendation?

If you installed Oblivion in that folder, Nehrim will need to be installed there as well. If you move Oblivion somewhere else, Nehrim has to be moved as well. They just need to be in the same folder, but you can put that folder wherever you like. Having it outside the programs folder will make things way easier because Windows doesn't like external programs to access it (and if you want to install or make mods you'll need tools that will access files in the Oblivion folder).
