Hey, so i have installed FrostyEditor and FrostyModManager then installed the mod, but i can't figure out how to make the fbmod files into png or dds like in the video...🤔 Can someone help me please ?🙂
EDIT: (i'm a year late but fixed it, thx for the response)
You can't convert .fbmod into PNGs that's impossible. You use the .fbmod with Mod Manager to load the PS UI into the game. The tutorial is for those who want to create those own UI icons and shows them where to import the UI images.
I'm getting the same crash as AmkAdrian on Modmanager and editor 1.0.5.9 and mod manager 1.0.5.6. I will test the project on 1.0.5.6 editor now, but I am not sure what is going on
I have deluxe, but that shouldn't make a difference the files for both are same. having deluxe just unlocks certain files. I am not sure either, i have never had this error myself, so i can't figure out to duplicate the error to find a fix.
According to that error message it mentions your GPU Driver, is your graphics card up to date?
Yes I have the latest driver installed not sure why it wouldn't work I guess I can try a reinstall of my drivers. I have rtx2070 on Nvidia driver 461.92 hence the "46192" in the error I believe.
I even tested on an older laptop I have from 2012-2013 and got the same error
Is it possible for you to hit the windows button and put `winver` and screenshot the output (with personal information edited out) and paste it here?. I am curious as to what version of Windows 10 you have installed. That could be the issue but I don't know. Also what video card and driver do you have installed?
Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.867) AMD RX 5600XT with latest driver
But i don't think the windows version is the issue. I found on discord a solution and posted it above. I haven't been able to confirm it though as i don't have the issue in the first place.
Yea so I guess you are on 20H2 as well, which means my theory is incorrect (was thinking maybe you were on a different windows build but I guess not). Still the AMD GPU might have something to do with it but I am not sure. I will try your fix and see if it helps
Tried your reported solution but no dice. It still gives the directx error on attempting to start the program with the ps4 ui mod.
Did some digging and it appears your project has mipmaps for some files which originally do not have them. The file/icon for instance `xb_a` has 7 levels of mipmaps in your project whereas the original dds exported from frosty editor only has 1 level. I will test by resaving the dds files from the project without mipmaps and report back. I think I may be onto something here
To check the info of dds files I am using this tool called Compressonator ?(at the time of this post this is the latest but if someone sees it later down the line it might be outdated so check their github)
LEFT is the original asset exported from frostyeditor RIGHT is your asset from the project zip
Are you using both at the same time? You can only use one of the PS4 UI mods at a time, make sure only one is applied. You could also make sure directX is up to date. Others have had similar issues that i have not been able to solve as i can't reproduce them as it works on my end perfectly. You could also look at the comments below if you are still having issues.
Some have not been able to get it to work, you could try my project file that i uploaded. Also i included the textures so that you could try it yourself.
To use my project file just open Frosty Editor and open the .fbproject and click launch. I will post a tutorial on how to use the editor to import textures soon.
I find it out how to import the files but the Lt and Rt/L2 and R2 was not there and the solution is not good its only 64x64, you have to to this in 128x128 but it works
are you using fitgirl? People have been having problems with that version. I have not found any solution. Fitgirl is a cracked version and therefore will have issues the legit version does not. I am also having problems just getting fitgirl version to launch to test mods.
fitgirl version didn't work, after press launch in frosty mod manager , the program install something then didn't auto start the game. i closed frosty mod manager manualy then start the game but no ps4 UI in game. please check
Well it won't work if you don't launch through the mod manager.
Anyway here are things you can try. 1. Make sure you are running as admin 2. Delete the moddata folder in payback directory 3. try a different version of mod manager such as 1.0.5.6 https://1drv.ms/u/s!Anc7Qbu3f1d8huR-xncR00bjUMXiZQ?e=kfxw13 I think newer versions of mod manager may not fully work with fitgirl versions of the game
Thank you for your helps. I did as your guide But it didn't work either. my pc have only 1 user as administrator. I press launch it applying mod then it auto minimize the frosty mod manager and nothing happen. i press launch again game did not launch. then i launch the game manually still no PS4 UI appear. how to see the error log when use frosty mod manager ? it display then disappear too fast.
I did already. nothing happened. I saw the game process NeedForSpeedPayback.exe run in windows task manager for about 10 seconds then stop. what's wrong ?
I am just a user of Frosty so i don't know everything about the program. Another idea is to go to the frosty discord and look at solutions or troubleshooting channel. they might be able to help you. https://discord.gg/cxhX4u
Reinstall the game, but first you can try to Take ownership of the payback directory. Right click on the payback folder and click security, change it so everyone has full permission.
Do other mods work? If they do you may have to update directx so that the texture swap will work
Will there be a FitGirl version for this? Im kinda tired of the xbox symbols that pops up when I used a ps4 controller but the game keeps on crashing because I have a FitGirl version.
For some odd reason, the fitgirl version you just made didn't work, rather it said "Directx texture failure" something along the lines but it did not show the "this might not be compatible with the current version" this time on the fitgirl version.
Someone else had this issue with the legit version. The only thing i could suggest was to make sure directx was up to date or Try this https://github.com/Microsoft/DirectXTex/releases and https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=35 In frosty it has these links for texture, maybe you need to have it installed? If this works for you I will put these in the description so that others with this problem can get it fixed.
So I went to check if directx was up to date and surely enough it is up to date. But the DirectXTex, I am a bit confused on how to install it. What are the requirements to install it? It has a .nupkg file which I am not familiar with.
I have tried the DirectX End User-Runtime but it said a newer version or updated version already exists. Also to install DirectXTex, I would need to install Visual Studio?

- Delete the ModData Folder in the Payback Directory
- When loading mod manager delete the Payback profile
- Create new profile (find payback exe)
According to the post these steps "refreshed" the game and modEDIT: (i'm a year late but fixed it, thx for the response)

Hi,
i have the normal Version and i get this.

Could you make a tutorial for it.

Did you try with just the directx End-User runtime? I know you can install that easily.
