No, this just changes the texture. Also it isn't an issue per say, because I think the devs designed it that way on purpose. it might be possible to mod it out, I just haven't found it yet.
How does a project open with a frosty editor? Because I don't understand anything of this manual in the description

Don't worry about opening existing project. I made this when the only option for mods was using .fbprojects. As for new projects it is the default when starting up. You don't need to do anything except save it if you want to go back and edit it again. You missed a step in the directions first find the texture and open it (so that you see the pic in the window). then you will see a import button appear at the top of the window.
