Wow, it works! It raised the camera height enough so I can actually see over cars like the Subarau Impreza.

    Endorsed!

What this game needs is a mod that raises the chase-cam height. The angle in the vanilla game is bad -- right behind the car so you can barely see the road.

Other racing games manage to get this right; the Ghost NFS games use bad camera heights. All three chase cams in this game are way too low.

I would try this mod but the description mentions nothing about fixing the height, so it's a pass.

Besides which, FMM is a buggy mess that seemingly only works when the planets Venus, Mars, and Jupiter are aligned.

This mod does raise the height of the chase cams, as demonstrated in the screenshot. Also, if you want the latest iteration of the mod, download the need for speed remastered mod which includes latest update for camera module.

Thanks for that! The vanilla camera heights are driving me up the wall, ruining an otherwise perfectly decent driving game.

I'll give it a whirl, if I can get FMM to run. Last time I tried that mod manager a year or so ago, it did nothing.

Sorry for the really  dumb comment - which camera is the chase cam? Like when you cycle through cameras, which one does this mod affect?

It affects all the cameras where you can see the rear of the car, but is primarily optimized for camera mode where the rear is closest.

    Seems it does not work.
    EDIT: it does, sorry.
