V1.2: Fixed the "settings.xml" file by removing duplicate folder paths that was causing long load times and increased RAM usage.
V1.3: Added a few new songs, made battle songs initiate a bit better, and fixed the zip file so it will install with UMM.
V1.4: Added at least 1 sec of silence to beginning of songs, so 'custom music player' blends songs in better.

Adds new Ruin's, Dungeon's, and Battle music using the Custom Music Player Mod (by catriddled) found here on the My Time at Portia Nexus. These songs add a great new depth to combat, ruin's, and dungeons. You won't regret it. I made it an add-on so catriddled can still get endorsements.

I've selected music that fits the atmosphere of these areas, and fits the overall theme of My Time at Portia. All the music is instrumental, and from other video games. If it has pizzicato in it, I definitely used it. It's taken me weeks to get these songs to where I'm happy with them, but I may add more for exploration (seasons, time of day, etc).

I spent quite some time editing the songs too. I added 15 - 30 seconds of silence to the end of each song (for the Ruin's music), in order to allow the songs to not sound like they're playing one after another. I added around 1 second of silence to the beginning of each song, so the 'Custom Music Player' blends them in better. I balanced the levels so they're not too quiet or too loud. And, I also edited out some of the more grating parts from some songs, and extended some songs by blending in some more favorable parts, or looping them (trust me, it's done quite well).

I set the Dungeon, and the Battle music to loop one song per day., because the game may play a different random song, mid-song, every other fight (or after a fight in the dungeon)...and it won't song very good. I included the vanilla songs already , since the "custom player's" option, to include vanilla songs, doesn't work very well (it plays them too often). Also, dungeon songs and Ruin's songs can be used interchangeably if you like.

Ruin's Songs      :  37
Dungeon Songs :  28
Battle Songs      :  28

In order to get every song to play equally, I  originally added the folder option for each song. This increased initial load time by about a minute (or more), and increases RAM usage by around 4GB. This was just too much, so I decided to only have each playlist point to only 2, or 5, addresses to the same folder. At the start of each day the "Custom Music Player" will reload the music and select new songs. You can further reduce the playlists (or increase if you'd like) yourself, but don't go lower than 2. (when going lower than 2 the player chooses the same song as the day before)

If you want to edit the mod yourself, the player basically works like this:

The total songs you can hear in a day for each area (Ruin's, Dungeons, Battle) is equal to each "song" ("songs"=address to linked folder) you have in the playlist (if the 'loop one song per day' option isn't selected). Each song, in this mod, is randomly chosen from a folder. Each playlist is linked to specific vanilla music. So when the game goes to play "1007: Cave" (Ruin's music) it instead plays one of the random songs from the "PRESET: Cave" from this mod. The more "songs" in the playlist, the more songs you'll hear in a day, but adding more "songs" adds to the initial loading time, and increased RAM usage. But once you sleep, the songs will be randomized again (you can also re-randomize the songs by clicking the reload music button in UMM).

You can easily delete songs from each of the folders located at   "My Time at Portia\Mods\CustomMusic\ " , but only delete songs when not playing the game, or at the start of a new day, to avoid any issues.

Games the song's are from (All are Orchestral, no chiptunes here):

A little tip for selecting the next song (within the Ruin's, or any playlist that's not looped one song per day), pull out your camera and a new song will play (a "Custom Music Player" minor bug, but a good one). This is good since clicking the reload button from the Custom Music Player mod in UMM makes the game hang for a few seconds (because reloading the music by clicking 'reload music" in UMM resets the music selection, same as a new day does).

This Add-on mod only includes the songs, and a 'settings.xml', within a 'CustomMusic' folder (same folder as the player mod). The main mod needs to be downloaded in order for this to work. If you already have Custom Music Player installed, just overwrite the folder with this mod (backup your settings.xml file if you have a playlist you want to save, just in case, as this is the only file that could be overwritten).
