About this mod

I tried to give the saddles a more realistic look.
They now come in the versions Baroque with black leather and Western with dark brown leather, light brown leather and all fur.
Each kind of saddle has a variation of saddle blankets.
As bonus there are also some very elaborate ceremonial and show saddles from around the world.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
List of Saddles in the DL-Package:

Working Saddles: Western 14 versions, Baroque 5 versions
Bonus Saddles (found under the title Formal) : Chinese, Marocco, Native American 2 versions, Silver Parade

Installation (this written instruction is also included in the DL-Packag so you can read it up there):

Before you start the installation you should give your horse a unique name in game if you have not already done so. You can do that with a right-click
on the feeding trough.

1) For the recolors to work you need the latest version of Custom Textures installed.
Use UnityMod Manager to install “Custom Textures”.

2) Un-zip the “More Realistic Saddles Pack” download folder and keep it save somewhere outside the game folder.
In the download folder you will find three folders named: SADDLE RECOLORS, Saddle Screenshots and HORSES.
The folder “SADDLE RECOLORS” is the one that contains all modded texture files.
Important: There are many different files in this folder but you can use only one modded texture file per horse!

3) In “Saddle Screenshots” you will find pictures of all saddles.
Scroll though the screenshots, make your choice which one you want to use and note down its name which says something like “Saddle_NAME_BaroqueBlack_redgold”

4) Locate the folder called "assets" in the MTaP game folder.
If you are playing on steam, the path is: Steam\SteamApps\Common\Mytime at Portia\Mods\Custom Textures\assets
If the folder “assets” is not yet there you have to create it.

5) Now go to the folder “SADDLE RECOLORS” and copy and paste the PNG file with the name you noted down from the “SADDLE RECOLORS” folder into the
“assets” folder.

6) In the “assets” folder remove everything from the PNG name starting from NAME_xxxxx and replace it with the name of the horse you want it to use on.
For example if the horses name is “Thunder” the PNG must be named “Saddle_Thunder” instead of “Saddle_NAME_BaroqueBlack_redgold”.

Done.
Now have fun!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
In my game for some unknown reason the saddle recolors work only if I also use a horse recolor from the Horse Texture Pack by Archer810.
With the original horse skins the new saddles did not show in game.
So in case this happens to you too and you want to ride a horse with one of the original colours I have added the original horse skins to the download folder
as recolor files plus as a bonus a more white variant of the white horse.
You will find the horse skins in the folder “HORSES”
Install the horse skin you want just in the same way as you did with the saddles: Copy the file into the assets folder and rename “Horse_NAME” to “Horse_(YOURHORSESNAME)”.

The horse shown in the screenshots is a recolor by Archer810. The colour is called Palomino and you can find it in the Horse Texture Pack.

Notice:
I have created these saddles for my private use and I am happy to share them. Please do not make requests. I have done all I wanted to do.
