I discovered a new mistake - I wanted to drive a car with a tape recorder, but I couldn't put it in any of the original cars or in any of the mods. He goes through the car and falls to the ground! I literally can't put it on/in the car!
Indeed, the tape recorder no longer flies through the car... But the game literally freezes! Frame drops to absolute zero every second until you pull the tape recorder out of the car, but even after that, the FPS is not too high.
And since you're here, what file format should I use? I've tried mp3 and ogg, but so far I haven't been able to listen to it. Are there any requirements for the name?
I downloaded the latest version, it doesn't work... Am I using the tape recorder incorrectly? I instal reel, turn the knob from the bottom and press play. Or I press play and turn the knob. After that, the mod immediately turns off due to an error... I have a steam version of the game and the latest version of the mod loader.
I REALIZED WHAT MY MISTAKE WAS! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! I was putting the reel on the B side when I didn't add audio for the B side! That's what provokes this error! I didn't even pay attention to the fact that they can be turned over! I'm used to the mod for cassettes, which is useless to turn over... Everything is working perfectly!!!
And another mistake, I was trying to move the tape recorder and accidentally removed the receiving coil... It has fallen off and cannot be put back on...
I started with complaints and completely forgot to say thank you for such a wonderful mod! It looks great, the tape really rewinds, the reels are simply mesmerizing... 2 sides, you can't remove them until you rewind them to the end, very realistic! I would also like to add cases for the tape so that they can be customized.
Thanks, yes, tape covers i will try to add. Also maybe different tape sizes, irl they were 18 (for this player too large), 15 (current size), 13, 10 and 8 cm.
To be honest, it's a strange choice of device) It's a horizontal, monophonic, 9-speed, and also has 15cm coils... I would take a 4-track stereo, a vertical, 19-speed, and at least for standard 18cm coils and large 3-way speakers for it!!!)
Hey, looks like you fixed it! The take-up reel is no longer removed by left mouse button, and the mod loader is not disabled due to missing side B! You are a cool dude! However, this guy is right about the performance, I have high fps, but I have hard freezes for 2 or more seconds...
Yes, i firstly wanted to make a Tesla B73, but that will make code more complicated. There are often changable speeds, and also there will be 4 clips instead of only 2. But, maybe when this will be done i can try. Worst thing for me is making model. But still, irl sound quality depends mainly on is how good is tape, im listening sometime even on 2 cm/s.
Yes, the B73 already looks like a real tape recorder! In our family there was a Soviet "Ilet" with similar characteristics. And why do you choose Tesla? Why not take some Japanese one?)
Because im from czech republic, i dont know any others (except Unitra also). About FPS, i dont know if its by model or code, as i said to that post i will try to make LOD system and i will see
I was thinking about something. This tape player doesn't have an autostop, right? It would be funny and realistic if at the end of playback it didn't just stop, but pulled the tape out of the feed reel and kept it spinning, as it usually does.
It's a cool mod, I really like it, it adds an entourage of time to the game. Among the identified problems: the severity of transporting the item to Satsuma. The player has a large collision, which can dramatically slow down the car or send the player to the other world. In the future, it would be nice to see a tape rack and the possibility of customizing them (a box or something similar). Thanks to the author for such a cool mod. All the best.
Thank you very much. Now we can drive comfortably A small question: how hard is it to create a mod for this game? I love the farming theme and would be happy to have my own small garden or vegetable garden. I don't think there will be any problems with models, the library in Unity is large, but I don't understand programming. Is it possible to use neural networks when writing code?
Neural networks are maybe possible by PlayMaker, but i dont know if it will work and how to do soemthing like that. It depends on how much is that mod complicated, some just model importing is easy, but this thing took me two days. You can try learn writting code, but it will take some years before you will make something usable.
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll do it someday. Maybe I'll add a couple of simple models when I finish my degree. Good luck with the mods and all the best, you're cool.
Interesting concept, but really bad execution. Performance impact is bad, even if unused it lowers your framerate Mandatory to split you songs to sides, otherwise the mod craps itself. Weird issues with collisions. Also the mod likes to randomly break for no reason, even if you didn't touched it.

and are there any other requirements for the name of the music file?
