How about an update or a new mod where the fines are less? You shouldn't be getting thousands of dollars fines for going 15 over the speed limit, I think it should be altered where it is stuck at the lowest possible net worth, I mean like your net worth should not matter in the fines, and it should be set as cheap, if not possible it should just be significantly cheaper nonetheless.
The part of Parajarvi that we play in has like 50 people max so everyone would probably know each other. And they would definitely remember who owns the one satsuma in town. Plus the police literally recognize you in their voice lines, its not crazy to say they just see you through the windshield and know you are thus know where you live.
One thing that would be nice to have is that the cops will write you up for disobeying the stop sign after you drive away a significant amout of distance from the Police checkpoint. Holy s#*!, I kid you not i recivied a 3000mk fine that would be only 420mk (Because I forgot the seatbelt) cause I stopped the Gifu a meter too far away... wtf
Hi Chromeadders, was wondering how difficult it would be to create a mod that allows the NPC police cars to be able to chase you through Perajarvi and down the dirt roads, instead of just the highway. I've always wanted to be able to get chased by them, nobody has made a mod for that yet so I would expect it to be pretty difficult.
I would think it would be possible to maybe splice Pena's pathfinding code into the police cars to allow for the dirt road AI with some minor modifications, I'm not a programmer though so I have no idea but.
Any chance of a hard cap or rollover mechanic for Net Income? (say only the last 4 weeks are calculated, rolling over when the next week starts?)
Topless Gun's current implementation acts like time is frozen, adding more and more time/living expenses to this single endless "Summer" - to the point that on very long playthroughs you end up with extremely costly, un-payable fines; even for minor violations. It'd be nice if Net Income was calculated based on a set period of time or just had a hard cap, instead of just increasing indefinitely.
Oh but if you're interested in random suggestions I have a couple: 1. Purchasable Lamp/Lantern, similar to the island lantern, so we can set up lights in places that don't have them without having to keep everything in our current vehicle and risk losing it - docks, ventii house, etc. would be useful places to buy and place a lantern. I used to use the Poppy Air Freshener mod for this before it broke. 2. Purchasable axe, so we can keep one in our vehicles for moose/keep one at ventii house logpile without stealing from wood chopping spots and then not having it the next time we want to chop wood. 3. Revert the wood carrier to its pre-update version, where it automatically picks up any wood that touches it. Currently it's pretty useless as loading it takes more work than just throwing wood directly into the trailer. 4. Mod Ventii House allowing pig-man dealer to stay once you win the house - cards are both fun and a good money sink since it favors the dealer, but this means you can't cook and sleep at the house if you want to keep playing. Maybe keep the outhouse disabled so you can't use save exploits at cards. 5. Additional coffee pot so we can keep one on the island without having to bring it on the janky boat every time. 6. Alarm Clock - with so many mods having so many jobs available only on specific days at specific times, an alarm both as an alert as well as a way to keep from oversleeping would be great. 7. Car Battery Tester - purchasable tool that shows current charge, max charge and drain rate. Currently there is no way to tell whether a battery is still good, beyond putting it on the charger and watching how fast the charge goes up/down, doing some mental math on charge rate and roughly guesstimating its drain rate.
8. Jump Starter - don't think they existed back then but jumper cables would be way more complicated. Purchasable, can be charged at home, and if placed next to the battery in the engine compartment will transfer charge allowing you to jumpstart the vehicle, similarly to how that floodlight mod worked with loose batteries placed next to it. 9. CD rack attachment in the car, to keep CD's from getting tossed around/lost. Or just snap-lock point in the glovebox or something. 10. More snap-lock attachments like in your Jack and Warning triangle mod, but for all the other things people carry around - socket set, axe, sledgehammer, etc. So things can be organized neatly. A snap-lock point in the glovebox for the flashlight would be especially nice. These things as well as the grill would also be really useful in the Van. 11. Drugs for different ailments and addictions would be neat. Pain pills for hangover shakes, patches for nicotine addiction (I know chewing gum was a mod at one point, but it's outdated and patches are different and thus not copying). Some kind of cure to lower caffeine addiction would also be nice, like an herbal tea or something, as once you're addicted fatigue management is impossible and the natural rate reductions for playerfatiguerate/playerstressrate are extremely low.
And with that I'll stop littering your comments with suggestions!
Following kaylo's suggestion let me make one more. Disable fines calculation based on net income cause it's a bit of a bullshit if you ask me. Like real life it should be a set amount and some lineancy on going over the speed limit. For example, with the bike yo can go 50km/h before you get a ticket, vehicles with an 80km/h limit you get fined after 90km/h, and regular cars instead of a 100 it's like a 115. The first tier of going over the limit could be like 5k using the cars as an example 115-130, then 130-150, 10k, over that 30k. This system would be implemented to other types of vehicles with some sort of limits. Tax evasion stuff like dumping sewage and using fuel oil where it isn't supposed to be could still use the net income as a calculator.
This would fit nicely in this mod, thanks for reading.
Finland does use the day-fine system so it does make sense that it's based on player income. But the way it's implemented definitely needs to be improved upon, since IRL it's based on monthly or yearly income (forgot which). While in-game it snowballs and eventually gives you a stupid amount for even a minor crime
