About this mod

People are now wary of their food supply. This mod addresses the prosperity -> food death spiral by reducing prosperity growth depending on a town's food situation.

Changelogs
Prosperity growth is reduced when food growth is lower than 25.
This will slow down the onset of starvation, giving the game's trade-based economy more time to address the issue.
Negative food impact on prosperity is thus smoothened, as prosperity "reacts" to it before the problem becomes serious, which is immersive.

Sieges: The besieged are typically not allowed to enter nor leave, and starving out a city is a historical strategy. Thus the mod doesn't apply to besieged settlements.

Immersion: When problems are expected, (some) people act accordingly. If there's starvation on the horizon, some prepare other sources of food, some stockpile well in advance, many are forced to ration their food, and others simply leave.

Food growth < 25: -1prosperity per 4 food under 25
Food growth < -12 or stockpile < 400: -1 prosperity per 3 food under 25
Food growth < -25 or stockpile < 100: -1 prosperity per 2 food under 25
Vanilla starvation: -1 prosperity per 1 food under 0

I recommend using a mod that increases food stockpiles to realistic/immersive levels. My own mod that does so is V's Rebalanced Buildings

Compatibility:

Safe to add and remove mid-game.

Harmony-patches DefaultSettlementProsperityModel.CalculateProsperityChangeby postfix.

Makes use of Settlement.FoodChange within DefaultSettlementProsperityModel.CalculateProsperityChange, and thus using Settlement.ProsperityChange within DefaultSettlementFoodModel may crash the game (tested for CalculateTownFoodStocksChange).

Installation:

Same as for any other module. Unzip it and place it in the game's install folder "...\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules".
If on Steam, right click the game title -> "manage" -> "browse local files".
Both Zip and 7zip downloads available.
If it is installed correctly you'll get a notification text on the bottom left of the screen at the main menu.
