When I first started playing the Battanians I was quite dissapointed to find that there were very few options for archer troops. You have the highborne troop tree, but it didn't make sense that such a hunter-focused faction wouldn't have an archer line for the normal troops.

Overhauls the Battanian troop tree to be more ranged-focus, and to look more like the forest people that they are. In addition, they have been made more unique compared to other troop trees.
The Battanians have always been great hunters and have developed to great archers and skirmishers. With the abundance of animals in their vast forests they have developed strong leather armour, and prefer this instead of heavier armour, although some do use scale or chainmail. Being lightly armoured the men of Battania can move fast and can outrun most other forces in Calradia.
In the Battanian culture it has always been common that the women took care of the horses, and as an effect of that, they became the most skilled riders. Therefore the women became the messengers and envoys of Battania, and their riding skill increased further. So while the men of the woods preferred to fight on foot, the women preferred to fight on horseback, either as javelin throwing skirmishers or medium cavalry.
