About this mod

Have you actually ever visited any towns? This very simple mod (for now) will address that bannerlord is less of a menu simulator, and more of an immersive game by addressing and justifying the work of sceners and devs at TW, that simply gets overlooked. The player is able to do almost everything in town, what can be achieved in the menu.

DISCLAIMER: this is my first mod, although its still very early and simple in its feature, I haven't tested everything and played through all possible scenarios, so feedback and suggestions are very welcome.

Less Menus, More Immersion
aims to transform Bannerlord from a menu-driven simulator into a more vivid experience honoring the environments developed by TaleWorlds. By reducing the game's reliance on menus, this mod encourages players to engage more directly with the world and its inhabitants, enhancing the immersion. Want to recruit a companion? You actually have to go to the tavern through the town. Tavern empty? No problem, talk to the innkeeper and ask for directions regarding quests, potential companions etc.

Currently everything besides recruiting in a normal setting is disabled (will be addressed in future).

If this and my modding muse gets some traction I plan to address ways to make it not forced upon players to always visit towns as they grow in power, like upon reaching a certain clan tier/becoming a vassal/etc.

Compatibility:

an excellent mod that complements this one is Adventurer.

This should technically be compatible with everything, as menus introduced by other mods, such as BannerKings or any other mod for that matter, are unaffected.

However, menus that manipulate the native settlement menus and add submenus might be broken.

Currently incompatible with:
  • Donate to Granary (ReRevived) - no way to access the menu added to the mod. I might add some sort of a workaround later if there is a demand for it. Might be working now in 0.6, but i will not guarantee any compatibility in the future.
Personally i just use mods that have other ways of handling issues seemingly addressed by the mod.
  • FastDialogue - its code breaks my mod.

Created for 1.2.9. technically should work for any older Harmony supported version but I cannot guarantee it. Regardless, use at your own risk, I take no responsibility for your game/saves/exploding PCs.

Not save game reliant, feel free to install and uninstall at any given time.

I am a busy family guy IRL, so there is only so much time I can dedicate to modding. If you'd like to say thanks by showing a little support, you can buy me a coffee.
