I'm able to promote only one companion to a lord... if I try to upgrade the second one it crashes when I type the clans name (already tried different names and companions)

Download the latest for all mods. Make sure the last 3 modules load first in the order above, followed up by the Mod configuration, the vanilla game modules and last goes Distinguished Service 1.2.5 fix.
Tested and everything works as of the latest Bannerlord version 1.2.9.
Hi, how do I set an external name list for the mod to use? For example I am using the More Names All Versions mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/4418/?tab=description&jump_to_comment=133133099). Do I just copy the entire spcultures.xml to the Distinguished Service one?

23/10/23 - Uploaded new version that should fix any issues regarding settings not working / updating right.
23/10/23 Potential 1.1.6 fix not sure test it out and let me know
EDIT : it was companions out of custom troops with no culture defined. Using Character Reload to add them a culture fixes the problem.
