Please tell, is it possible to make the AI affected by it as well, at least to some extent (ofc all lords know all the cities, probably castles, but not where villages are)? I understand that it could probably lead to a  pathfinding mess with armies stuck, but it would be much fairer to a player this way, if stuck issues are prevented.

Hey Bloc excellent work as always. I really enjoy using your mods there always well crafter and thought out. Question is are you planning to update the mods that don't say 1.2.8 compatible or will the 1.2.7 mods version work in the latest 1.2.8 game release. Thanks for the response I know your busy and this is just a hobby for you so thanks for all your hard work.

And also, now there is 1.3 coming so maybe it's better he waits a few days?

I'm not sure you guys are talking about given that mod works fine for 1.2.9 so hence for 1.2.8 as well. Mods do not need to be updated if they continue working on next versions - which happens in current case.

Will this mod keep being updated and will also work with overhauls Like europe etc or it's already known it won't work?
I would like to play it on 1.2.8

Now the game has an interesting way of hiding information, but it happens very quickly.

And I would also like if the squad is in the forest, then the information is not displayed.

Good idea, if  parties are in forests or hideouts, nobody should know about it but with a good scouting skill level.

Hi bloctheworkerbloc, any thoughts why using Fog of War with Lemmy's europe campaign map might cause severe fps drops (down to 15-20fps total) and gpu usage to cap around 30% -only- when the character moves on the map?

When Standing still fps shoots back up and moving the camera causes no issues, just when the player character physically moves on the map the fps drops to 15-20 and gpu usage drops to around 30%.

Just seems so anomalous as I haven't had issue with other large map mods while using FOW (e.g. realm of thrones etc) and after removing Fog of War, Lemmy's runs fine.

Likely the answer is just "Its not compatible, don't use one or the other" but I'd likely rather skip the europe map than run without this mod. (FOW really feels like it shoudl have been in he base game.) So on the off chance its addressable, thanks!

+1 I must agree, I observed the same result as the one you described, the drop of FPS, and also the usage of the GPU.
I must say like you did, that the feeling given by FOW is so excellent, it would be a shame to just stay on an incompatible stage between Lemmy's europe map and FOW.

...so true that it's the kind of improvement that feels so natural it should have been in the game, at least on some patch and/or before final release...

Europe map in general is not optimized well, so I'm not sure if this is related to FoW or not (if you check their post section you can see it from reports) If it's FoW related as you said (and not exactly cache related which can also be the issue) then it can only one reason about this which is engine trying to handle visibility layers of the settlements and there are quite a lot settlements in that mod. Other than this, GPU usage cannot increase with gameplay code since it does not have direct access to such things. tldr; i may take a look at that in the future to see if there is anything to improve but no guarantees.

Hey i've been playing this with Banner Kings and it's Banner Kings: Expanded Cultures sister mod and though it seems to work fine for the most part, but it seems that the towns and villages added by what I assume to be the BK: Expanded Cultures mod (Not experienced enough with the map to be 100% sure) are not being discovered properly.

like theyll appear and I can hover my mouse over them to see what their name is but they dont appear on my map as an icon with a name.  Could it be a load order issue?

Sounds like they are not explored by you but due to how Campaign Map is altered by that mod, FoW isn't able to hide their icons (because FoW works based on how game objects are set in normal campaign map) If you teleport/go near those settlements, you will be able to see their name and should work fine. Or if that mod changes how it creates the new settlement models.

Be aware that quests like "[Criminal notable]'s associates captured by bounty hunters" may become extremely hard to complete since, even though the game tells you the notable marked the hideout location on the map, it will most likely be affected by fog of war and you won't be able to see it (and the game doesn't describe if the hideout is near x or y village, like in warband). At least that's what I interpret happens.

If anyone knows a way to temporarily remove the fog or force it to appear on the map, I'd really appreaciate it.

many caravans are stuck on the map, waiting near cities or random places like this one.

crashes on surrender and/or when battle is over and clicking the DONE button. just isolated the problem and it was FOW. let me try older version...

EDIT - older version doesn't work either. Using ROT. Shame...worked flawlessly in 1.1.6 with ROT. Wonderful mod.

Just did battle, won, clicked done, no issue. Also tried with attacking someone, surrendering, no issue. Doesn't seem to be related to this mod. You need to provide a bug and crash stack if you are sure that this mod is the issue

started doing again on a new campaign whenever I lose a battle and click DONE button. What happens is I remove FOW and reload save and lose battle, all good. Put FOW and reload save, lose battle, crash. Here is a screencap...

Doesn't give me a report just click retry infinitely. Any ideas?

You clearly have a compatibility issue then. Don't use the mod.
