About this mod

This mod attempts to adapt the Malazan: Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. It's in an early alpha mode right now

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod adds factions from the Malazan series, replacing each of the base game factions. More work is planned for the mod, including: replacing the vanilla characters and adding custom DNA for those character, revamping the map, adding more factions, and adding main story quests.

Factions
Malazan Empire
  • The Malazan Empire is a heavy infantry and crossbowman faction
  • Their elite line is the Malazan Marines, a hybrid crossbow and sword/shield infantry
  • Their t5 and t6 crossbow units have access to Moranth munitions, with only 6 bolts but incredible killing power (just don't let them shoot near your own troops)
  • The Southern Empire has been replaced with Laseen's Empire, the Western Empire with the Talian League, and the Northern Empire with a slightly ahistorical Mallick's Empire.

Seven Cities/The Apocalypse
  • The Seven Cities have the best cavalry in the game, as well as powerful shock troops
  • Their elite line are desert cavalry
  • They do very well against armor

Free Cities Coalition
  • The alliance on Genabackis that resists the Malazan empire has a varied playstyle
  • They have a solid line of city troops, with spearmen and crossbowmen that serve well defensively
  • The other line splits into Rhivi tribesmen, with cavalry and javelins, and the Mott Irregulars, which provide excellent archers.

Pannion Domin
  • The Pannion Domin is a unique faction, militarily.
  • Their t1 and t2 troops are the Tenescowri, which are, quite frankly terrible
  • But should they survive long enough, they upgrade into heavy infantry and archers, which match up well against other troops their level
  • Their elite line of troops are the Seerdomin, a heavy shock infantry troop line with axes.

Letherii Empire
  • They have a dedicated spear line and decent archers
  • Their elite line are heavy infantry, who can match up against anything their level ingame
  • Their cavalry are the worst you will ever see. While decently armored, they have subpar horses and no horse armor.

Tiste Edur Empire
  • The Tiste Edur are unique among the factions as they are a different species than the others
  • They are taller than other troops, as well as faster and have slightly more health
  • They are good assault troops, and their elite line, the Tiste Nobles, provide a hybrid archer/sabre unit
  • Yes, you can play a Tiste, though savegames are kinda finnicky with keeping you as a Tiste

The mod does require the Open Source Armory mod to function.
